Job Description Searching for a physician who is board-eligible or board-certified in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine and who is experienced in primary care to provide on-site services on a full-time basis to the male population at this lower security prison. Schedule is weekdays - no evenings, weekends, or holidays - and is flexible based on needs of facility, but core hours are typically between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Duties: Working collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system Conducting exams and writing evaluations and reports Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing Managing medication Completing reclassifications and other reviews as indicated Making referrals for specialized care or treatment Performing duties in accordance with scope of practice, ODRC policies, procedures, protocols, and related American Correctional Association standards Participating in Continuous Quality Improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews Required Credentials: Ohio license Healthcare-professional level CPR certification Drug Enforcement Administration certification

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Diagnosing, treating and managing patients referred for management of Liver and GI disorders, including fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis and pre/postcare of liver transplant patients. Performs endoscopic procedures and cares for patients in the outpatient clinic and inpatient setting, sometimes supervising trainees (GI fellows or medicine residents). * Performing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopy procedures (including PEG placement, esophageal dilation, and other basic therapeutics), liver biopsy and paracentesis. Competence in ultrasound elastography is a plus, but not required * Performing histories and physical examinations, endoscopy consultations, virtual visits (telehealth) and developing treatment and follow-up plans. * Responsible for completing patient encounters, inpatient consults, notes, and correctly coding visits in accordance with coding guidelines.
