Originally founded to provide higher education opportunities to recently freed African Americans and other under-served people, Pain College has grown into a proud four-year university. Established in 1882, Pain College was founded in the Methodist tradition and continues to weave religious and secular education into academics on its Augusta, Georgia campus. Paine College offers bachelor's degrees in a variety of concentrations of the following disciplines: • Division of Business Administration • Division of Education • Division of Humanities • Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics • Division of Social Sciences Though the list of academic majors is relatively short, students receive superb instruction from scholarly and professional instructors in the classroom. Paine College aims to produce a welcoming environment where students can invest in their future. Student life features clubs and organizations that breath life on campus by promoting intellectual, moral and healthy life experiences. As in the Methodist tradition, Paine College advocates social responsibility, ethical values and personal development.
