POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Paint Booth Machine Operator will be responsible for operating the paint booth within our production department that builds and assembles Fire, EMS, and Industrial parts. They will need to be skilled at mixing wet paint and compounds to the desired consistency, read Bill of Materials and assembly instructions, adhere to all health and safety precautions, and operate machines with moving parts to paint surfaces according to instructions.
Shift: 6:00AM - 4:30PM Monday - Thurs, possible overtime on Friday (compressed 10-hr work schedule).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates painting machines to paint all designated surfaces, using proper procedures for every part.
- Prepares parts for painting as needed.
- Monitors performance of automatic spray guns.
- Assists with cleaning and booth set up for color change.
- Assists in cleaning and maintenance of automatic spray guns as needed.
- Adds paint to maintain optimum operation of equipment.
- Maintains a pristine work environment.
- Maneuvers product around the paint line per procedure.
- Visually adept at spotting defects and blemishes and conform to paint finish specifications.
- Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor

Position Responsibilities:
- Hang, remove, insulate and pack parts.
- Clean paint room, paint booths, and hangars.
- Follows standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Stacks and arranges products and packed containers into crates, boxes, and cartons.
- Perform First Piece inspection as needed.
- Clean equipment, tools and gauges to ensure they are safe and orderly at all times
- Work on other Fabrication and paint equipment as needed.
The most qualified candidates will demonstrate the following:
- Must be able to understand and follow standardized work instructions.
- Must be able to identify differences in standardized work instructions and inconsistencies in parts and be willing to stop the line.
- Must be able to bend, lift, and stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to use Air Tools.
- Must have excellent attendance record.
