Job Duties:

* Follow detailed assembly instructions and blueprint specifications to perform a series of operations to construct assemblies
* Gather necessary parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials
* Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools, components and fixtures
* Adept at interpreting paint codes, and able to learn new processes and technologies
* Document actions by completing production and quality forms, while meeting production deadlines
* Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions
* Comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies
* Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to lift light to medium weight up to 50 lbs.
* May sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
* May stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations
* Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Forklift driver, preferred
* Experience with data entry and general use on computer systems
* Ability to speak, write, read and comprehend procedures in English
* Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed

Responsibilities
• Review each repair order prior to beginning work.
• Prepare vehicles and parts for painting using proper techniques, equipment and materials.
• Mask vehicles for painting
• Prime vehicles and parts
• Sand vehicles and parts prior to painting
• Responsible for wet sanding/buffing completed vehicles to the paint finish meets quality standards
• Review all work with painter
• Maintain a clean & organized work environment.
• Prompt daily attendance on scheduled work days.
• Other general shop duties as assigned
Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY
A Body Shop Paint Prepper will complete all paint preparation processes for repaired vehicles and assist painters with their work.
Job Requirements, Education and Experience
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Skills: Body shop experience preferred. Basic computer skills required. Must be professional and safety
minded at all times. Must be able to effectively work both independently as well as part of a team.
Other: Must have valid driver's license and be insurable.

JOB CONDITIONS:
Physical: (These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.) Working in, under, and around trucks
and trailers. Standing most of the time on concrete floor. Repetitive movements. Ability to lift, push or pull,
objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 75 pounds).
Environmental: Primarily indoor in a shop environment with some outdoor work. High noise level. While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
Coveralls, ear and eye protection provided.
Hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week M-F.

Hiring for the Inglewood, CA area.


Supporting one or more of our Paint Technicians, you will wash vehicles, locate and remove imperfections on panels and treat scratches and chips with plastic or liquid filler. You'll tape up the cars so we paint only the parts of the car that are intended, and smooth and sand rough spots. After painting, you'll remove the tape, clean the vehicle and prepare it for buffing.

What You Need to Succeed

• Body shop or vehicle prepping experience is preferred
• Strong work ethic, flexibility, speed and attention to detail
• Toughness and grit to work outside in all kinds of weather
• Physical stamina to kneel, bend and squat, as well as lift up to 15 pounds
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Some flexibility in hours needed (occasional evenings or Saturdays)
