Duties
Work schedule may require some occasionally mandatory overtime on holidays AND weekends.
The individual selected for this position will:
Painting-Refinishing:
Performs complex coating work using any of the accepted methods of the trade such as graining, shadowing and shading colors.
Matches and mixes colors by eye or with a tinting machine to match historical and faded colors.
Applies decorative painting techniques to historical ornate designs. Applies primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats.
Refinishes and/or finishes walnut and mahogany doors, metal doors and cabinets, etc., to match historical natural wood finishes in historic buildings.
Applies paint, stain, varnish, enamel and other finishes to equipment, decorative walls and doors and/or other structures using brushes, spray guns or rollers.
Painting Preparation:
Removes fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps and electric switch covers prior to painting. Protects floors and furnishings from damage during the painting project.
Prepares interior and exterior metal, wood and masonry surfaces. Removes old finishes using chemicals, scraping and sandpapering.
Calculates amounts of required materials and paint based on surface measurements. Mixes and matches colors of paint, stain or varnish with oil and thinning or drying additives in order to obtain desired colors and consistency.
Removes old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing or using water and/or abrasive blasting. Smooths surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool and/or sanding machines.
Uses special finishing techniques such as sponging, ragging, layering or faux finishing.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting techniques, as well as drywall installation and finishing, and rough carpentry repairs. - **Rough carpentry repairs:** Fix or reinforce framing, trim, and minor structural elements as needed.
- **Make-ready services:** Assist with final detailing, fixture installations, and minor repairs to prepare spaces for occupancy.

Essential Functions:
• Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue. Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, and other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, and power tools.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level. Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, use hand tools.
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to equipment, buildings, bridges, and/or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers. Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats. Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Mix and match colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil and thinning and drying additives in order to obtain desired colors and consistencies. Polish final coats to specified finishes. Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using a carpenter's hand and power tools.
• Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
• Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting.
• Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements and/or work orders.
• Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors to determine work requirements.
• Cut, fit, and assemble wood and other materials for the construction of buildings, highways, bridges, docks, industrial plants, boats, and many other structures.

Venture Dynamics is seeking skilled Painters/Blasters to join our team. Painters/Blasters will be responsible for preparing ships surfaces for renovation and maintenance projects by using various blasting techniques. The ideal candidate should have experience in maritime painting work.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize blasting equipment to remove old paint, rust, dirt, or other debris from surfaces
- Follow schematics and instructions to determine the appropriate blasting methods
- Maintain and operate blasting equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Be able to apply coatings using a brush, roller and/or spray applicator while maintaining a desired ML thickness.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Blaster or similar role
- Knowledge of different blasting techniques and equipment
- Must have three (3) or more years experience in applying marine coating of epoxy, high solid epoxy, and non-epoxy paints.
- Ability to read schematics and follow instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and safety protocols.
-Must have experience working in a physically demanding environment, confined spaces, working at heights, and use of half-face and full face respiratory equipment.
Painters and Blasters with current C-7, C-12 and C-14 certifications are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities of the Painter/Finisher:
Sprays surfaces of, manufactured products, or producat area with protective or decorative material, such as primer, paint, enamel, using spray gun: Cleans grease and dirt from product, using materials, such as lacquer thinner, soap, and water.
Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
May manually manipulate parts into the proper carrier/hanger to provide for proper spraying/drying
Sands/preps the primer surface to include removing defects and to fill cavities and dents with body filler and putty to attain smooth surface.
Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color, according to specifications, using paddle or mechanical mixer.
Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose.
Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray according to knowledge of painting technique.
Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
Capable of doing spot repair on parts, using blending clear to cut in edges.
Wet sand small defects and buff paint back to original shine.
