Summary of Job Description
The position, Painter B, is responsible for mixing and applying epoxy and urethane coatings to products to protect exterior surfaces.
Essential Functions
Inspect all parts and units to be painted
Apply class B and C paint to commercial vehicles and parts
Repair minor flaws and paint defects by wet sanding and buffing
Clean and maintain paint booth
Clean and maintain paint guns
Complete rework as needed
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills
Regular attendance required
All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Six months related job experience or training

About the role
In the Painter position, you are responsible for the safe, environmentally sound, and efficient daily operation of your duties and responsibilities. Under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Painter will perform industrial painting and plant preservation activities, including washing, paint prepping, painting, sandblasting, and general maintenance, on parts, steel, aluminum, and equipment.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform “Power-Wash” and other pre-painting activities on parts in preparation for painting/fabrication.
Apply a variety of industrial coatings to fabricated metal products.
Utilize instrumentation to measure painting parameters to ensure compliance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
Responsible for the application of industrial coatings in confined spaces.
Assist to appropriately rig large objects for the purpose of moving them in the process of applying the industrial coatings.
Adhere to all OSHA and hazardous materials procedures with respect to the storage and handling of materials in the area.
Requisition material and supplies from stockroom; call vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies and recommend purchases and suppliers.
Work in a self-guided manner in the absence of supervision and demonstrate creativity, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative.
Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in all assigned areas.
Assist in the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment and guarantee and observe good safety habits.
