Responsibilities:
Prepare a variety of routine and preventive maintenance painting duties
Prepare and mix paint, specifically standard epoxies and UHS coatings
Prepare and paint a variety of surfaces including, aluminum, ferrous metal, interior shop coat metal, uncoated metal, accessories, and other surfaces as specified; protect and prime surfaces as appropriate; apply finish coating to our standards
Correct work as directed, any imperfections in the finish
Clean up work areas, equipment, supplies and materials; apply standard safety practices and procedures
Always follow manufacturers specification
Assist in training other workers as necessary
Use proper PPE
Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment
Implement and follow the company's safety, quality, and environmental policies; and OSHA requirements in the shipbuilding industry
Qualifications:

The individual must be able to frequently climb inclined stairways and vertical. Work aboard the vessels can be strenuous and sometimes hazardous. Dynamic, fast-paced outdoor setting
with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: This position is accountable for painting all areas of the shopping center, inside & outside as directed by property management. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
* Apply paint, stain and other finishes to property walls, ceilings and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
* Apply primer or sealers to prepare new surface for finish coats.
* Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire bonding or using water solvents.
* Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs.
* Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas.
* Coordinate with management and/or supervisor in order to modify colors of paint, stain, or varnish.
* Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures ; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuries, and complete safety training.
* Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
* Reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stepping.
* Move up and down a ladder.
* Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
* Perform the job in accordance with all applicable standards, policies and regulatory guidelines (i.e. OSHA standards) to promote a safe working environment
* Ensure the appropriate inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, supplies, equipment and tools are maintained.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School Diploma or GED preferred. Technical School certifications and/or training preferred
* Minimum 2-3 years painting experience
* Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings and comprehend instructions. Ability to effectively present information to departmental management, employees, tenants, and outside contacts
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to define problems, collect information and establish facts.
* Self-starter with ability to work independently
* Capability to diagnose problems on equipment
* Knowledge of basic painting procedures
* Knowledge of safety rules, hazards and application of accident prevention measures
* Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
* Valid Driver's License
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon various factors, including an individual's skills, experience and qualifications and the geographic location of the job.
