Other duties may be assigned. Reads work order or receives instructions from supervisor regarding paint colors that need made. Selects premade colors in paint room or storage cabinets; or mixes required portions of oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors utilizing color eye. Keeps paint room area cleaned up. Sprays fasteners with spray gun when needed. Tracks and maintains paint chips in organized manner. Assist in workflow in immediate paint area. Follows 5S procedures to maintain clean work area. Supports the use of Power Boards for maintaining all department standards. Reads work order and prepares paint gun to be loaded with color needed. Selects premade colors on table (that have been made by the Paint Maker). Sprays fasteners with spray gun with an even coat of paint - spinning rack to ensure coverage on all sides of fastener head. Achieves reasonable production rates and goals. Loads painted fasteners on cart after completing painting. Moves carts in and out of ovens when needed. Cleans equipment in between colors. Assist in workflow in immediate paint area when needed including shaker table and paint booths. Have the ability to handle and load structural steel materials onto flatbed trailers using overhead cranes. Have the ability to clearly document and communicate work progress and load information to peers and supervisors. Performs at a highly proficient and independent level in order to achieve the set goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Responsibilities: Safety Achieve the goal of zero accidents by using all protective equipment assigned and operating in a safe manner per CMC Structural policies. Suggest ideas to improve safety. Report immediately all accidents and cooperate fully with all accident investigations. Be familiar with job-specific PPE and any MSDS/SDS as required for cleaning and painting.
