DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identifies, selects, maintains, and uses appropriate tools; safely erects staging and ladders following all operating/set instructions on the equipment. Places wet paint and other warning signs in accordance with the work area requirements.
Safely uses and correctly disposes paints and solvents, following all rules, regulations, and procedures.
Detects and reports defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor in a timely manner to ensure the safety of patients, families, staff, and visitors.
Maintains tools, equipment, and work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition: Cleans and performs maintenance on equipment to ensure all needed equipment is usable when needed.
Follows all hospital and departmental standards and prescribed safety regulations consistently. Responds to all facility emergency codes in a timely manner. Attends facility-sponsored training in Blood Borne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Right-to-Know, and Chemical Hygiene.
Assist Engineering Department personnel as assigned by supervisor. Assists with snow removal as situation demands and in a timely manner to ensure the safety of patients, families, staff, and visitors.
