Job duties:
* Clean and mask parts prior to painting, assure no weld splatter and laser oxide.
* Identify defects such as cracks, splits, poor welds for repair.
* Select and use appropriate application tools according to paint characteristics.
* Apply liquid paint according to manufacturer recommendations.
* Inspect part for paint defects and repair any defects before releasing part from area.
* Maintain tools used for painting tasks.
* Manage time appropriately.
* Learns and applies understanding of proper application of painting equipment used to do required work.
Skills/Requirements:
* 1 year minimum of liquid painting, powder coating, and/or deburr experience
* Can work M-Th, 330pm - 2am
* Positive Attitude and Strong Attention to Detail
* Strong working knowledge of paint application techniques, mixing, multi-coat timing, curing for all types of liquid coatings used in an industrial setting.

Mid America Car Inc. - Locomotive is currently seeking a Locomotive and Railroad Freight Car Paint Supervisor. This is a working supervisor position. A qualified candidate should have a background in the supervision of painting, masking and body work. Our painters perform all duties including disassembly, prep, sandblasting, clean, wash, mask, prime, and paint on rail equipment as needed. The work is mostly performed inside a shop setting. Mid America has a paint facility with blast, paint, and wash capabilities. This job can include travel and working outside at times for small repairs and touch up.

The Paint Supervisor assists the Paint Manager with overseeing all aircraft painting operations within the MRO facility. This role ensures that aircraft paint jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with customer specifications, FAA regulations, and company standards. The Paint Supervisor leads a team of technicians and coordinates with other departments to support maintenance schedules and turnaround times.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the paint crew, including preparation, masking, priming, painting, detailing, and finishing tasks.
Review work orders and project specifications to ensure accurate execution and quality assurance.
Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, OSHA standards, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
Maintain paint shop inventory and order materials, tools, and supplies as needed.
Perform inspections to ensure paint quality meets customer and regulatory standards.
Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations for paint technicians.
Work closely with Quality Assurance, Planning, and Maintenance departments to support on-time delivery.
Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and completed work in the maintenance tracking system.
Troubleshoot equipment and technical issues and coordinate repairs or maintenance of paint equipment and booths.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols and proper use of PPE.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade school preferred.
5+ years of aircraft painting experience in an MRO or aviation maintenance environment.
2+ years of leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
Communication Skills:
Must be able to read and speak English.
Must be able to communicate effectively with other personnel.
Mathematical Skills:
Basic math skills.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
