Job Description: Paint Supervisor Pay: $24 - $27, based on experience The Paint Supervisor is responsible for proper surface preparation, painting and accurate distribution of all fabricated material as per the contract specifications. This position is deemed ‘safety sensitive' due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee's co-workers, and/or the public at large. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Efficiently supervises and coordinates daily activities of painters, painter trainees and blast equipment operators in accordance with daily job schedules and job applicable specifications. Qualifications High School diploma of equivalent with a certificate from Vo-Tech. Minimum of 5 years' industrial surface preparation and coating experience. Must have 2 years supervisory experience in an industrial paint shop. Must have a thorough knowledge of sophisticated paint systems required in an AISC certified (with Paint Endorsement) steel fabrication shop. Must be able to read and comprehend fabrication drawings. Must have scheduling, supervisory and equipment maintenance experience. Must have working knowledge of AISC, AASHTO and SSPC standards. Must have the ability to effectively read a tape measure, work in fractions and meet deadlines. Good organizational skills required. Physical DemandsMust be able to lift at least 100 pounds.
