Summary:
Under direct supervision, this position applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings, and other structures. Mud, tape, float, and skim sheetrock to a smooth or specified texture. Ability to perform other interior/exterior task, such as framing, hanging sheetrock, setting doors, and minor ceiling grid repairs.

Follow all Nabholz and job specific safety procedures.
Development of all project plans, standards, policies, and procedures.
Assist with implementing change management and supervisory processes across all construction related issues within projects.
Painter
Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool, and remove old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blow torch.
Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty plaster or other filler.
Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
Paints surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers.
Simulates wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects.
Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects.
Apply base, bed, and skim coats of sheetrock mud to desired finish.
Minor framing repairs to allow for patching.
Minor Ceiling repairs, such as new tile.
Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
May also hang wallpaper and fabrics.

Qualifications
Strong 2+ years of experience within interior residential painting; custom home painting is a plus
High school diploma or equivalent
Working knowledge of spray equipment, elevated safety procedures, and OSHA and MSDS regulations
Proficient with roller and brush work along with spraying, including spray prep work; ability to repair paint spray or trade equipment is a plus
Capability to complete small drywall repairs to include matching texture; larger project ability is a plus

Essential Job Duties
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface.
Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
Mixes paint according to specifications.
Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color..
Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate.
Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags and unpainted areas..
Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested..
Repair collision damaged vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and company standards
Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials and reports any deviations to management.
Documents all work performed on the repair order.
Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
Keeps shop area neat and clean.
Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.

A person in the position is responsible for prep, painting, staining, and finishing escape room props and sets in the production shop. Typical items include: escape room sets/props, cabinets, furniture, and metalwork - and may include additional in the future.
