Must be able to learn to measure out and catalyze material as needed Must ensure the quality application of coatings to ensure compliance with quality standards Must keep supervisor and/or manager informed of the quality of parts received from other departments Must be able to learn to maintain a spray application of 3.5-4.0 wet mils on all parts on a consistent basis Must have the ability to produce and ensure a quality finish from start to finish Must have a good "color eye" Ability to adjust spraying equipment to insure proper application of coating materials Must be able to read and understand instructions and documents in English Possess the ability to learn all species of wood used for production and finish colors by sight Learn and maintain knowledge of the Essential Cabinetry Group Hazardous Communication Program Learn and maintain knowledge of basic hazardous waste generator responsibilities Learn to accurately label containers for paints, stains, cleaning solvents and hazardous waste Properly dispose of used finishing products in the designated hazardous waste accumulation points Adhere to all OSHA, EPA, federal, state, and local laws Other duties as assigned. Requirements: High school diploma or its equivalent required with 0-2 years' experience in related field. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to understand work instructions and directions in English. Good analytical skills. Working Relationships This position requires interaction and communication with all levels of personnel in the Finish Department as well as other departments. The Paint Sprayer 1 works under the immediate supervision of the Finish Supervisor. The expectation as a team member of ECG is to be team minded and committed not only to perform the above tasks with excellence, but to exemplify and communicate the company's mission, vision and values. Physical Requirements Position requires constant physical effort both inside and outside of an air-conditioned environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, and perform spray application motions for an extended period of time and must be able to lift and/or move in excess of sixty (60) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. May require moderate/heavy amounts of overtime on occasion to ensure departmental functions or special projects are completed on schedule. Employee must be able to pass a Qualitative FIT Test and be medically able to wear a half-face air purifying respirator. PPE Safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes at all times while on the production floor Safety This position expects to adhere to all safety rules to include the use of all require protective personal equipment (PPE). Specifically, eye and hearing protection must be worn at all times while in the production floor.
