About the role
Responsibilities:
We seek a committed individual who will be responsible for industrial painting and building maintenance on a day-to-day basis. The Painter, under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining equipment and materials according to Reworld's policies.
Responsibilities include:
· Accomplishes industrial painting projects and oversees plant preservation activities.
· Performs minor building maintenance (man doors, insulation, etc.)
· Responsible for prep work, and post job site clean-up.
· Use spray rig/gun system, sandblasting equipment, chipping hammer, grinder and forklift as well as disassemble for cleaning.
· Work in a self-guided manner and demonstrates creativity, exercises sound judgment, and demonstrates initiative.
· Ensures a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in all assigned work areas
· Capable of interpreting and following manufacture's paint specifications and procedures. Including safe use, handling and disposal as outlined in SDSs.
· Supports the facility team by participating in general clean-up of the facility.
· Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, practices and regulations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED is required, as well as at least 3 years' experience as an industrial painter.
Qualified candidates must have knowledge and experience with:
· Various types of metal cleaning and abrasive treatments such as media-blasting, chemical etching, degreasers, etc.
· Surface preparation to ensure proper coating adhesion and advanced understanding of paint equipment and paint-booth operation.
· Working with materials and surfaces such as metal, brick, wood, plaster and concrete.
· Paint and chemical application techniques.
· Erecting scaffolding and ladders.
· Operating power hand tools and other related specialized equipment.
· Working at heights and operate equipment such as aerial, boom, and scissor lifts and work from a man basket.
· Working alone and stay on task.
· Communicating clearly and concisely and establishes and maintains effective working relationships with plant personnel.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
· Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
· Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
