Job Purpose: This role involves preparing and painting aluminum boat surfaces to ensure a high-quality, durable finish that meets both aesthetic and functional standards of SeaArk Boats.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare aluminum surfaces by sanding, grinding, pressure washing and sandblasting
• Apply etching primers, fillers, and marine-grade topcoats using spray equipment, rollers, or brushes
• Mask boat interiors and exteriors to protect non-painted areas
• Mix and match paints to meet customer specifications or manufacturer standards
• Inspect surfaces for defects and ensure a smooth, even finish
• Perform touch-ups and repairs as needed
• Safely use, clean, and store painting and safety equipment
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Basic knowledge of spray equipment and paint chemistry
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedures
• Basic math skills (fractions, percentages, ratios)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and solve practical problems
• Familiarity with sandblasting and standard painter tools
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 1 year as a painter in the marine industry (or related product)
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.
• May involve working outdoors or in industrial environments
• Exposure to heat, noise, fumes, and hazardous materials
• Use of protective equipment such as gloves, goggles, and respirators
• Must be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.

Job Description: Paint Supervisor Pay: $24 - $27, based on experience The Paint Supervisor is responsible for proper surface preparation, painting and accurate distribution of all fabricated material as per the contract specifications. This position is deemed ‘safety sensitive' due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee's co-workers, and/or the public at large.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Efficiently supervises and coordinates daily activities of painters, painter trainees and blast equipment operators in accordance with daily job schedules and job applicable specifications.
Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all paint and blasting equipment. Ensure all operators are properly instructed on the safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
Responsible for reviewing the job applicable contract cleaning and painting specifications.
Responsible for cleaning and painting of all fabricated material.
Ensure proper testing procedures are used in compliance with contract specifications and maintain accurate records in accordance with AISC standards.
Prepares fabricated products for shipment.
Orders job applicable paint and supplies.
Responsible for ensuring adherence to all company safety and OSHA regulations. Must maintain a thorough knowledge of company Quality Assurance and Safety Manuals.
The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
Qualifications
High School diploma of equivalent with a certificate from Vo-Tech.
Minimum of 5 years' industrial surface preparation and coating experience.
Must have 2 years supervisory experience in an industrial paint shop.
Must have a thorough knowledge of sophisticated paint systems required in an AISC certified (with Paint Endorsement) steel fabrication shop.
Must be able to read and comprehend fabrication drawings.
Must have scheduling, supervisory and equipment maintenance experience.
Must have working knowledge of AISC, AASHTO and SSPC standards.
Must have the ability to effectively read a tape measure, work in fractions and meet deadlines.
Good organizational skills required.

The employee may be required to travel. Must be able to climb ladders over 6 feet and work out of high lifts and / or scaffolding. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
All employees are responsible for maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination, intimidation, harassment, including sexual harassment. The noise level is usually moderate to loud. Exposure to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable. May be required to work in conditions including cold, heat, temperature swings, noise, outdoors and indoors. May be required to work in locations that involve hazardous environments requiring protective equipment that conforms to OSHA regulations and some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust and noise.
SAFETY

Employees are responsible for completing assigned tasks safely and efficiently, and supervisors are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment. Employees must report any unsafe work conditions or practices, as well as any near-miss incidents, to their supervisor and Risk Management. Supervisors and employees should ensure that injury/accident reports are submitted to the Office of Human Resources and Risk Management within 24 hours of the incident.

RESPONSIBILITIES - Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with brushes, rollers, and spray machines. - Prepare the surfaces to receive the coatings by cleaning the dirt, oil, and grease from the surfaces to be covered, removing old paint and wall coverings, cracks and holes are filled and smoothed over. - Must know what materials were used to make the paint and which types of paints are required for different materials, such as plaster, wood, brick, and metal. - Must have a good eye for color to mix and match paints. - Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS A high school diploma or equivalent, minimum eighteen years old, and be able to work well with their hands. Ability to judge colors is important. Working knowledge of different application techniques, proper care of tools and safe use and handling of paint, solvents, and adhesives. Must be physically able to work for long periods of time with arms raised overhead.
