As a Painter / Maintenance Staff Member, maintains building/facility by cleaning surfaces mixing and applying paint and other finishers; Prepares interior and exterior surfaces of building/units/common areas; Position may be indoors to maintain the interior of the community, outdoors to maintain the exterior, or a mixture of both.
Your Responsibilities:
* Ensures that security procedures are adhered to at all times.
Painting of all common areas and touch up may be required.
* Responsible for inspecting areas that need paint and advising manager.
* Properly matches colors and mixes paint.
* Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
* Maintains a positive working relationship with building staff.

Skills & Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Lead Painter, the incumbent is responsible for the preparation and application of paint, wall coverings and related coatings to interior and exterior surfaces of on and off-site locations of the facility.
Essential Job Functions:
* Must adhere to the Seminole Tribe's Policies and Procedures.
* Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures on all Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino properties using brushes, rollers, high and low volume spray equipment.
* Has the ability to measure, cut and install wall covering. Is familiar with different types of wall covering and the tools required to accomplish the task.
* Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, fingers or plastic to create special effects. Simulates wood grain, marble, brick tile or other specialty effects.
* Smoothes surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces for painting; prepares surfaces as appropriate and cost effective; fills voids with putty type filler; removes and replaces wall fixtures.
* Selects premixed paints, color matches or mixes required portions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
* Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
* Maintains tools, equipment and supplies in good, clean, operating order.
* Interacts with internal departments to coordinate work flow.
* Promotes positive public / employee relations at all times.
* Maintains a clean, safe, work environment within area of responsibility.
* Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma, trade school certificate preferred as well as a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in specialty coatings or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience. Must possess thorough knowledge of paint, coating and wall covering properties, capabilities and limitations. Must possess effective interpersonal, teamwork and oral communication skills as well as be well-organized, orderly and attentive to detail. Valid driver's license required.
Work Environment:
* May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
