Skilled craft-work preparing and applying paint to exterior and interior surfaces. This entrance level class lies below that of Painter Foreperson.
Essential Functions
1. Prepares surfaces to be painted by removing dirt, scales, rust, old paint, grease, and other materials.
2. Scrubs, pressure washes, scrapes, and sands surfaces.
3. Applies primers and sizing.
4. Patches drywall, plaster, and other surfaces of furniture, equipment, and the interiors and exteriors of buildings.
5. Mixes, tints, and applies paint to furniture, equipment, and the interiors and exteriors of buildings.
6. Erects and dismantles scaffolding.
7. Cleans and maintains rollers, brushes, and spray guns, and makes minor repairs to equipment and apparatus.
8. Cleans and maintains work area as needed.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Open Requirements: Must have four (4) years of full-time painting experience using tools and equipment of the painting trade such as spray guns, rollers, brushes, paints, varnishes, lacquers, enamels, paint removers, airless sprayers, and pressure washers.

Position Summary
Prepare and paint custom-manufactured metal buildings, tanks and trailers according to specifications; mixing paint as required, using spray guns and other equipment to ensure high quality finish and appearance. ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Maintenance Painter is responsible for property and facility general painting and paint repairs, unit make-readies to ensure quality standards and appealing grounds keeping. Hands-on position painting while ensuring all safety requirements are consistently met with quality standards delivered.

* Performs routine painting tasks on community grounds and parking areas
* Completes all work orders in a timely manner while providing detailed information regarding the task(s) performed along with all prescribed/pertinent equipment information.
* Assists in maintaining proper levels of materials and supplies for the campus to ensure the timely and efficient completion of necessary tasks.
* Attendance is essential to this job. Must also maintain dependability and punctuality as outlined in Attendance policy.

* Must possess a working knowledge of residential building painting
* Perform maintenance painting of wall, doors, frames, baseboards, ceilings, floors repairs, including texture painting, refinishing, etc.
* Must be able to effectively communicate with residents and staff.
* Must function under general supervision. Must be flexible and have integrity. Must possess the ability of effectively work with residents and staff.

* High School or GED.
* Possess 1 year experience in a residential apartment complex, commercial building construction or painting preferred
* Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired
* Have knowledge of knock down and orange peel techniques
