Job Description:

The Oregon Department of Corrections is looking for a dedicated security-minded building maintenance professional to assume the responsibilities of Facilities Maintenance Specialist. This temporary employment opportunity is in the Physical Plant at the Warner Creek Correctional Facility (WCCF) located in Lakeview. This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants. This position is represented by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) labor union.

About the Institution

Warner Creek Correctional Facility (WCCF) is a minimum-security facility located four miles northwest of Lakeview. WCCF opened in September 2005. It received the State Energy Efficiency Design award in May 2008 for its progress in design efficiency. The most energy efficient element at WCCF is the use of geothermal energy, providing 100 percent of the hot water to the facility.

What will I be doing?

This position coordinates, instructs and trains skilled, semiskilled and unskilled AICs in the operation, maintenance and repair of physical plant systems, equipment and building structures within a correctional institution and performs trades work as described in the position description.

What are the Minimum Qualifications?

* Two years of: a) general building maintenance; b) carpentry; c) electrical; d) mechanical; e) painting; or f) plastering experience.

A journeyman's license/card in any of the above trades will substitute for this experience. Be sure a copy of your journeyman's license/card is attached to your application form.
