Performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures and studies with a thorough understanding of standard radiography and fluoroscopy. Must be able to use knowledge and ability to assist physicians, interpret orders and explain procedures to RNs, patients and families. Secondary responsibilities include a thorough understanding of department operations in order to assist non-technical staff in processing paperwork, films and expediting patient transportation. Primary work areas include Diagnostic Radiology for the Health System including, but not limited to: Skilled Nursing, Operating Rooms, Trauma/ER, etc. Able to utilize a filmless based environment. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

The X-ray Technician retrieves all MRI orders through SRS imaging pool, enters basic demographics and sends messages to the Medical Assistants on the patient's appointment date and time through SRS messaging. The X-ray Technician will meet or beat the expected scheduling goals. As a licensed X-ray Tech, doing coverage, you will be responsible for facilitating patient flow through the x-ray department of facility in a professional manner, and for initiating and completing diagnostic exams and paperwork as prescribed by the physician. The X-Ray Technician will exceed the expectations of every patient by treating them with the utmost care, compassion and respect. This position will work with the practice patients, MRI Technologists, clinical teams, referral coordinators and SKI's contract person on accurately scheduling the patients for their MRI exam. The X-ray Technician retrieves all MRI orders through SRS imaging pool, enters basic demographics and sends messages to the Medical Assistants on the patient's appointment date and time through SRS messaging. The X-ray Technician will meet or beat the expected scheduling goals. As a licensed X-ray Tech, doing coverage, you will be responsible for facilitating patient flow through the x-ray department of facility in a professional manner, and for initiating and completing diagnostic exams and paperwork as prescribed by the physician. Major Position Responsibilities:

Manage requisitions and physicians orders in the Cerner EMR application
Modify, start and complete exams in the RadNet application within Cerner's EMR
Double check Authorizations, Diagnosis description and CPT codes are on all orders
Message all Medical Assistants in SRS on patient's appointment date and time
Fill cancellation or NO SHOW appointments diligently to meet goal
Work with OCM, Next Image, MIS, DOC organizations on scheduling MRIs
Schedule outside Referrals appropriately with complete documentation
Update MRI techs of add on patients and STAT request
Schedule Dexa scans in-house and outside requests
Answer returning calls and or X-Ray request

Works in collaboration with registration, front desk and clinical personnel and MRI tech
