Description Primarily responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for a resident or an assigned group of residents within an assigned unit and for the day-to-day management and supervision of the related clinical activities. Coordinates plan of care with the client, their family and the interdisciplinary team. Also responsible for supervising and responsibly directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel, utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Understands and adheres to the California Nurse Practice Act, The American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Bill of Rights for RegisteredNurses and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Education and Experience
Clinical Nurse I's at Magnet designated facilities only require a BSN or that a BSN program is started within one year of hire date and BSN degree is attained within two years of the starting the BSN program.

Additional requirements for specific departments are as follows:
Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI) Pre-Op, OR and PACU: BSN preferred. Experience in orthopedics preferred. Successful completion of ECG Test required for Preop and PACU only. For PACU, one year recent PACU experience in an acute care hospital or critical care unit preferred.
Post-Acute Care Unit (PACU): One year recent PACU experience in an acute care hospital or critical care unit (Sub ICU and Emergency Department included) required
Pre/Post Unit: One year nursing experience in a perioperative setting in an acute care hospital, an outpatient surgery center, or SUB ICU and Emergency Department required.

Description The Float Pool RN CCU is an experienced clinical nurse hired into the float pool to work within defined clusters where acutely ill or injured patients are hospitalized across the Health System. This position may float to Critical Care, Progressive Care/IMC, Emergency Department, Acute Rehab, Post Partum, Medical/Surgical, Telemetry or Mental Health based upon skills, experience, and competencies. Primarily responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients within an assigned unit and for the day-to-day management and supervision of the related clinical activities.
