The Holland Energy Facility, situated in Beecher City, Illinois, is an impressive 665 MW combined-cycle power plant. This state-of-the-art facility comprises two 7FA gas-fired DLN combustion turbines, each complemented by high-efficiency Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs), all seamlessly integrated with a single, powerful steam turbine. Opportunity Summary The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician is responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis. The O&M Technician responds to alarms by taking appropriate corrective actions and executes plant start-up and shut down procedures as required. The O&M Technician ensures that the plant meets its generating requirements while operating in a safe and efficient manner. Your scope of responsibility as O&M Technician will include the following primary functions: Promptly report any upset conditions or anomalies in plant status to the Operations Manager or Lead O&M Technician, leveraging a solid understanding of the power plant industry and plant operations. Apply water chemistry control, including the analysis of water conditions, operation of water treatment facilities, and safe chemical handling, to ensure optimal steam temperature and pressure, as well as proper feed water and fuel supply for efficient combustion. Respond to orders and requests from electrical, steam, and fuel dispatchers, employing theoretical and practical understanding of combustion/steam turbine operations, closed system steam generation, industrial safety, hazardous waste management, and the inspection/recording of plant parameters. Provide direction to O&M Technicians for implementing changes in plant conditions and chemistry, utilizing excellent oral and written communication skills.
