What is Papa Murphy? Why are there so many different fast food places in the US? In Australia there's maybe 10 or 20 different fast food places and that's it, and it's pretty much just variations on McDonald's, KFC and Dominos. Why is it that it seems you can get almost any sort of food delivered in the US, while in Australia it's pretty much just pizza that you can order delivered and that's it. Maybe fish and chips if you're lucky, but really it's just pizza.. Does Papa Murphy deliver whatever nasty food is made there? Do you like your job? Are your customers generally good or are they sometimes scummy greedy arseholes who just want their food and you better be quick about making it? Edit: also I like your apron and can see in the background that Papa Murphy must make pizza. Which probably also means you deliver.

Papa Murphy's is a take-n-bake pizza place that also sells cookie dough salads and soda. Every job has its ups and downs, but yes for the most part I like my job. We get a wide range of customers, each with their own personality. I would say that the majority of them are nice people. Thanks for the apron comment, and we actually do not deliver. You can find more info about Papa Murphy's at www.papamurphys.com

Nothing as chaotic as the food service industry, and a pizza place on a busy night is insane. So anyway, how would you describe why some people always love/hate a particular pizza style? Some always want deep dish, others want thin crust, others will totally avoid brand of pizza, be it Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and on down the line of the hundreds of others.

Yes sometime it can get really busy. It seems like everyone comes in at once. Usually around 5 we get a rush the it dies down around 7. A pizza style always comes down to what the customer prefers, whether its thin crust, deep dish, etc. I also think that some customers avoid certain pizza places that messed up their order or have bad customer service. Great customer service works wonders, trust me. We always try to say "hello" to customers who walk it and to start small talk with them. This builds loyal customers. For example one of the customers once bought all of us individual pieces of candy for christmas, it was really nice of her.

Hello there! I'm a Shift Supervisor up in South Dakota, and I stumbled upon this AMA after searching for Papa Murphy. Good to see someone else on here. How do you like your Pmurphs?

Well I loved it for the first year I was there but then this *** started working there and he changed everyone's happy attitude. He was poison. Turned all the guys against the girls. Just made everyone pissy and annoyed and filled with piss and vinegar. Our scores dropped for weeeeeeks after he started(as in either last or in the middle on our surveys). This past month he went to Michigan for an entire month. Guess who was the #1 score? We were. But I digress. If he wasn't there I usually loved it, but there was a lot of unfairness. The regulars were generally awesome. But I quit last Sunday cause I leave for the navy in 12 days.

Do you get free/discounted pizzas? Be honest, is Papa Murphy's your favorite chain pizza? If not, what is?

We get everything in the store for half off except soda, but sometimes if a pizza is messed up or something like a cheesy bread expires before it is bought, some *higher positioned employees let you take them home for free. As for my favorite pizza chain, I can't say for sure. I haven't really had pizza besides Papa Murphy's in a while, but I really do like their pizza. I did have Rocky Rococo's recently, and that was pretty good, probably a little better than Papa Murphy's. EDIT: *

Pros of working at Papa Murphy's

Everyone is extremely friendly and if I didn’t know someone I find out who they were very quickly.

Cons of working at Papa Murphy's

The fact that it is a small place and I do the same thing everyday, and it’s always prep work and I don’t get a lot of interaction with customers.

Papa Murphy's benefits

Probably has to be paid time off, it’s very nice to be able to have worked at a place for enough time to know you can take a vacation while being paid haha.

Pros of working at Papa Murphy's

The people, team members and the customers.

Cons of working at Papa Murphy's

As minimum wage went up, labor goals stayed the same. Same amount of work with less and less people every year. All of the people that knew what they were doing quit because other opportunities were offering more pay.

My best friends dad owns Papa Murphy's and he made her work there for a while and she hated it haha

Like any job, it has it's ups and downs, but overall I would say that it's a good job. Especially for a high school or college student. Where your friend's dad's Papa Murphy's? The one I work at is in a town of about 20,000 people so it doesn't get as busy as one that's in a big city.

For the masses: You can use food stamps at Papa Murphey's. That said OP, how often do people use food stamps there?

Like 1/3 of our customers use it. Before I started working there I was not racist at all. Now...the stereotypes are just so accurate and it's hard to stay unbiased. I do my best to not judge people on welfare. Black or white or Latino. But it's just really hard after a while. It's a reason I don't like the job.

I used to be a shift leader at P. Murph's three years ago. I still remember how to make more than half the pizzas there.

It's really just something that stays in your brain. What was your pay? And how big was your store? If you don't mind my asking. Just comparing.
