Under the general supervision of a Veterinarian, the exam room assistant helps decide on the best treatment plan for patients. The exam room assistant's goal is to have a working knowledge of the receptionist position, to have competence with Avimark and Microsoft Word, and to provide an exceptional customer service experience by treating each client and patient with the upmost compassion and respect. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases. Qualifications We're Looking For: * Veterinary experience preferred, but not required. * Ensure that all actions and interactions are consistently in alignment with UPC Core Values and "Behaviors in Action" (Provided in our Employee Handbook). * Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times. * Manage time and tasks appropriately and remain flexible with assigned duties. * Good oral and written communication skills. * Abide by all safety policies and foster a safe working environment. * Abide by all company policies and procedures and adapt to changes in those policies and procedures as needed. * Strong attention to detail and problem solving. * Good attendance. * Make decisions confidently and effectively. * Attend monthly staff meetings. * Must be able to work energetically for an entire shift, occasionally those exceeding 9-10 hours per day (Shifts do not end until all duties are completed).
