Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys with the preparation of a civil case throughout discovery and prepare for, attend, and assist at trial
Discovery and records management, including preparation of subpoenas and tracking responses

A baccalaureate degree or an advanced degree in any subject, a minimum of one year of law-related experience under the supervision of an attorney who has been an active member of the State Bar of California for at least the preceding three years or who has practiced in the federal courts of this state for at least the preceding three years, and a written declaration from this attorney stating that the person is qualified to perform paralegal tasks.
OR

Licenses and Certifications:

The Litigation team is responsible for managing Coinbase's litigation risks across the globe. Job Summary (basic description)
The paralegal will manage e-discovery, redaction, duplicating and indexing documents. With attorney supervision prepare chronologies of facts and production charts, perform searches and cull relevant information, organize pleadings, exhibits and appendices for filings, organize relevant documents for attorney review for witness interviews and depositions, and assist attorneys in trial preparation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate ability to apply key legal doctrines to assist with case strategies and present those to attorney.
Ability to plan and organize litigation matters and tasks, establish chronologies and timelines for key events in case, interact with clients and others on document gathering and production, demonstrate familiarity with key evidence and witnesses in cases, present evidence in hearings and trial, and manage deadlines in cases.
Assist with preparation of pleadings and discovery in federal and state court matters, and arbitration proceedings.
Assist with preparation of federal and state administrative filings.
Demonstrate understanding of practice group services by active application of knowledge and perspective to each matter or project.
Draft motions, pleadings, notices, correspondence, etc.
Analyze, review, and organize documents and data from materials produced during discovery; and prepare/coordinate document production and responses to discovery requests.
Prepare deposition and record subpoenas according to state and federal regulations; coordinate production of third-party records and summarize same; prepare deposition outlines and summaries.
Analyze and review privileged documents.
Trial and arbitration preparation; preparation and management of trial exhibits and other trial related assistance.
Presentation of case summaries and courses of action to supervising attorneys.
Conducting limited legal research, including but not limited to, Lexis and Pacer research.
Cite-checking and shepardizing when necessary.
Liaison with courts, opposing counsel, and litigation vendors, including process servers and couriers.
Knowledge of developments, procedures, and rules in the forums where the office practices.
Demonstrate basic strategic thinking and initiative with case assignments.
Awareness of calendar deadlines.
Responsible for personal billable time entries.
Address client case status inquiries, including steps in process remaining, processing times, and appointment issues.
Qualifications/Skills Required
Detail orientated with exceptional analytical skills.
5 -10 years minimum litigation paralegal experience, preferably in employment law.
Experience working with federal and state court litigation cases from onset to trial phase.
Experience with class-actions, and wage and hour productions a plus.
Knowledge of EEOC/CCRD procedures a plus.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of the rules and procedures in various courts and venues by consistently ensuring compliance in all litigation matters (Federal Rules of Civil Procedure as well as California Rules of Civil Procedure).
Experience with billing hours with software programs - Intapp knowledge a plus.
