The Paralegal supports the Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice group and is assigned to designated client matters, projects, and attorneys. The Paralegal manages a high-volume docket of commercial bankruptcy and restructuring matters and serves as a primary point of contact for attorneys, clients, trustees, and court personnel on assigned matters, as appropriate and under attorney supervision. This position includes an annual billing component.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Research, investigate, analyze, and summarize facts and factual issues relevant to the practice area.
Draft, prepare, and revise bankruptcy pleadings and related documents, including petitions, first-day motions, disclosure statements, proofs of claim, and fee applications.
Prepare and record UCC filings and other lien searches and reports.
Prepare and circulate transaction closing binders and post-closing documentation, including organizational documents, legal opinions, and related materials.
Electronically file documents via CM/ECF in various U.S. Bankruptcy Courts and related systems, ensuring compliance with rules, local procedures, and filing requirements; maintain and update service lists.
Track critical deadlines, hearings, and case milestones; maintain and update case management systems, calendars, deal status logs, and post-closing tracking tools.
Monitor and meet deadlines, establish priorities, and work concurrently on multiple cases and projects.
Maintain the firm's official files using the document management system, ensuring documents are organized, current, and easily accessible.
Conduct factual and procedural research using PACER, court dockets, and other databases; review and download court dockets and bankruptcy filings.
Research, chart, and summarize market terms on bankruptcy-related agreements, debtor-in-possession financings, DIP orders, §363 sale purchase agreements and sale orders, exit financing terms, and exit plan structures.
Review due diligence documents and summarize findings in a clear, organized manner for attorney and client use.
Assist in preparing case summaries, timelines, and status reports for internal and client use.
Prepare and organize exhibits, hearing binders, agendas, CNO/COC binders, and trial notebooks for bankruptcy hearings and related proceedings.
Coordinate hearing logistics, including scheduling, notices, and service, in consultation with attorneys and applicable court rules.
Draft notices, CNO/COC, pro hac vice motions, proposed orders, affidavits, and other filings, including joint administrative motions, motions to extend claim objection deadlines, removal motions, non-substantive claim objections, and retention applications.
Assist attorneys with preparation for hearings, §341 meetings, depositions, and trials, including assembling materials, witness lists, and supporting documentation.
Arrange for court reporters, interpreters, and other vendors as needed for hearings, depositions, and other proceedings.
Perform paralegal duties and responsibilities as directed by the group leader and other attorneys in the assigned practice group.
Perform all assignments in strict compliance with ethical guidelines governing the practice of law and firm policies.
Receive and follow complex instructions, exercising sound judgment and strong attention to detail.
Accurately track and record client billable time and non-billable hours, meeting minimum billable hour requirements.

Specifically, you will:
Send letters of representation
Update clients on case status
Collect documents and info from clients
Evaluate client needs
Connect clients with internal and external resources
Advocate for clients internally
Assist attorneys with pleadings, correspondence, and scheduling
Obtain world domination
What You Need
At least 3-5 years of legal experience in Property Casualty cases (Required).
Personal Injury case experience is a bonus.
Experience working cases based in Florida, or are willing to learn about working cases in the area (Preferred).
FileVine or Case Management System knowledge (Preferred).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents.
Experience with medical records management.
Microsoft Office (Required)
