Preparation of domestic and foreign subpoenas and supporting documents, including an understanding of the Uniform Deposition and Discovery Act; familiarity with the Long Arm Statute for service of process and use of the Secretary of State website to determine registered agents for service of process.
Preparation of Summonses and Civil Cover Sheets for initiating an action in Federal Court; preparation of Summonses for initiating an action in State Court.
Preparation of Open Records Requests and FOIA requests.
Familiarity of litigation support software and its use (e.g., , Relativity), including review and coding of documents relating to discovery requests and a basic understanding of privileged documents.
Basic understanding of Appellate rules, formatting and preparation of citations to the record on appeal for appellate briefs.
Preparation of deposition summaries and document indices, where necessary.
Familiarity of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Kentucky Rules of Civil Procedure that apply to specific paralegal functions.
Maintain time entry for all billable time.
Work closely with other team members to support the Strategic Business Unit needs.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance with clients, attorneys, judges, and anyone associated with a specific client matter.
