They are also obsessed with productivity to the point they have created applications in order monitor their employees during the day and record what they are doing every minute of their shift. My immediate managers are great. Their hands are tied, though, when upper management starts micromanaging.

Trust employees to do their jobs. Stop the micromanagement and constant pressure of perfection
