Prepares to transport patients by completing operator vehicle inspections, inventorying supplies, and correcting deficiencies. Respond to emergencies/assignments; observe traffic conditions; avoid dangerous situations; maintain communications with dispatch. Determine medical and safety requirements on scene by assessing the medical status of ill or injured persons; assessing prevailing circumstances; and calling for support. Stabilize ill or injured persons by rendering first aid; and relaying status to medical personnel.
