Responsibilities PATIENT POPULATION - (CLINICAL ONLY) 5% Engages in population appropriate communication. Knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks. Work closely with the community to increase their level of fire safety awareness in order to help prevent fires and accidents from occurring. Must also be able to successfully complete a Lawrenceburg Fire Department physical agility evaluation. Must possess a current Healthcare BLS card; current ACLS; current IS 100, IS 200, IS 700, IS 800 certifications. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The employees is required to pass the required statewide baseline physical examination as well as successfully complete a Lawrenceburg Fire Department physical agility evaluation. Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle and feel tools, objects and walk, climb, crouch, kneel, bend, push and pull. Must be able to repeatedly bend, lift and kneel throughout a 24-hour work shift. Must have good vision and hearing. Patient vitals must be reassessed every 15-30 minutes depending on patients' current status, length of transport etc. Must be able to give a good patient hand off report. Complete an accurate EPCR, obtain all appropriate signatures and attach all appropriate paperwork to the EPCR. EPCRs must be completed by the end of each shift. All patient care must be delivered appropriately and within your scope of practice or per Medical Control Direction. Minimum Requirements Must hold a current and in good standing, EMT license/licenses for the state/states they will be working in. Must provide proof of credentials, credentials will be verified. Hold a current BLS/CPR card. Hold a current, valid state issued drivers license with less than 5 points and no significant moving violations withing the last three years. For non-drivers- a current state issued ID. Must hold a current EVOC certification- can be obtained in house. Clean criminal background check. Must be able to pass a drug screen. Must be able to provide a social security card or valid/current work visa. Physical Requirements The ability to lift and maneuver 125 pounds, 250 pounds with a partner. Must be able to move/change large oxygen tanks appropriately. The ability to walk up and down stairs, assisting a patient in a stair chair or similar device. The ability to sit or stand for long periods. Must be able to carry/move/assist patient and/or needed equipment on foot in all kinds of terrain, IE: drive ways, uphill/downhill, throughout hospital hallways, residences etc and in all kinds of weather IE: rain, heat, snow etc. Must be able to wear face masks and all PPE for extended periods of time. Must be able to see and hear, use of aids is permitted. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively. Must be able to read and write. Responsibilities Must arrive to work on time, in full, appropriate uniform and ready to work. Must clock in/clock out on time or as directed by your supervisor. Must maintain good personal hygiene. Have medical knowledge pertaining to your scope of practice or above and the ability to perform skills within your scope of practice or as directed by physician/medical control. Perform daily truck inspections appropriately and in a timely manner. Must maintain cleanliness of the ambulance and stations IE: wash trucks, take out trash, sweep, mop, clean station etc Must restock truck supplies as needed and appropriately. Must respond to transfer requests in a timely manner. Must communicate with dispatch, other co-workers, Hospital staff, the patient and patient's family appropriately and respectfully. Must understand contamination risks, how to properly don and doff PPE, decontaminate yourself, the truck, and your equipment. Must be able to obtain a good patient care report, patient documentation/charting, and how to give a proper hand off report. Must know your state protocols. Must follow your appropriate chain of command. Duties to Patients All patient care must begin with friendly introductions to your patient and/or patients' family if they are present. Obtain a good patient care report from the nursing staff. IE: chief complaint, treatment received, treatment needed enroute, acuity etc. Gather all patient care paperwork and patient belongings if any. Safely move patient to the stretcher and secure with all straps. Complete a thorough patient assessment, obtain 2 sets of vitals at minimum. Patient vitals must be reassessed every 15-30 minutes depending on patients' current status, length of transport etc. Must be able to give a good patient hand off report. Complete an accurate EPCR, obtain all appropriate signatures and attach all appropriate paperwork to the EPCR. EPCRs must be completed by the end of each shift. All patient care must be delivered appropriately and within your scope of practice or per Medical Control Direction.
