Responsibilities:
Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
Other Responsibilities:
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Kansas Paramedic certification or eligible for Kansas certification.
State Driver's License.
BLS and ACLS required upon hire. PALS is preferred, but not required.
Driving record compliant with company policy.
Pass Physical Agility Test.
Some work experience, preferably healthcare.

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, and donor notification of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

JOB DESCRIPTION- Firefighter/Paramedic
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Performs firefighting and emergency medical services, including fire prevention, control, and extinguishment. Operate various rescue, emergency, and fire suppression equipment as needed, and inspects, repairs, and performs technical tasks related to maintaining assigned apparatus, equipment, and facilities.
Participate in cleaning and maintaining facilities, grounds, equipment and apparatus; ensure that appropriate conditions are maintained at assigned facility; ensure that all equipment and apparatus are in a constant state of readiness for emergency calls
Maintain proficiency in assigned roles consistent with the requirements of the position.
Familiarization with street names, occupancies within response zone and district boundaries as they apply to mutual aid.
Provide or aid in transportation of patients to medical care facilities; provide ALS assessments and treatments that are aligned with the roles and responsibilities of a Paramedic; maintain professional working relationship with receiving medical facilities.

Provide facility and apparatus tours to the public, give demonstrations of equipment to the public in a safe educational manner.

**Job Description**
Grid Automation and Control (GAC) Group of the Power Systems and Engineering Center (PSEC) at NREL is looking for an exceptional individual to support research in the advancing electromagnetic transient (EMT) modeling, and simulation of the power grid, while the power grid is transitioning to a modern grid with increasing growth of load and inverter-based resources(IBRs). The successful candidate will join a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative team of engineers, analysts, and software developers. GAC works to develop and apply state-of-the-art energy system modeling techniques, software, and simulations for breakthrough engineering and techno-economic analysis of the emerging future electric grid and broader interconnected energy system: transportation, buildings, gas, communication/controls, and beyond.
PSEC supports the science and technology goals of the U.S. Department of Energy, NREL, and industry partners toward a sustainable energy future. We work with the electricity industry and broader research community to conduct high-impact research and development that provides practical solutions to grid design and integration challenges that enable sustainable energy systems. The successful candidate will be working on developing the cutting-edge EMT modeling, simulation and analysis technologies of the future modern power grid. The successful candidate is expected to bring in solid power system modeling expertise including power system networks, loads, and dynamic electrical components, like synchronous generators and inverter-based resources and develop **the next-generation EMT simulator** to address the challenges and resolutions of operating a future grid; and have a passion to explore the future modern power grids in terms of stability, reliability and resilience.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
+ Modeling of power systems in various EMT-domain simulation platforms such as PSCAD, RSCAD or ParaEMT.
+ Conduct EMT studies of the power system to address stability challenges for utility partners.
+ Development of next-generation EMT Simulator and acceleration technologies.
+ Maintain/enhance existing NREL simulation testbeds/platforms/tools for testing innovative research ideas.
+ Prepare the results in form of reports and presentations.
+ Write and publish results of analyses in peer-reviewed journals, transactions, conference proceedings, and/or technical reports.
_This will be a hybrid position (mix of in-person work at South Table Mountain Campus in Golden, CO and work-from-home days, in any given work week) unless otherwise agreed upon by the Hiring Manager._

**Basic Qualifications**
Researcher II: Relevant Master's Degree. Or, relevant Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience.
Researcher III: Relevant PhD. Or, relevant Master's Degree and 3 or more years of experience. Or, relevant Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of experience.

**Additional Required Qualifications**
+ Relevant Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related fields, or a relevant Master's Degree and required years of relevant experience.
+ Strong background in power systems modeling and simulation.
+ Strong expertise in EMT modeling and simulation (e.g., PSCAD, EMTP, RTDS, Hypersim, or similar platforms).
+ Solid understanding of inverter-based resources, power electronics, and system protection.
+ Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C/C++, Julia)
**Researcher III (all above qualifications for Researcher II, plus):**
+ Demonstrated leadership in one or more areas of team, task or project responsibilities.
+ Demonstrated experience in management of projects and ability to execute with a high degree of independence.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with large-scale power system simulation and model reduction techniques.
- Hands-on experience with EMT/Phasor-domain-based power system transient simulator development.
- Knowledge of parallel and distributed computing for EMT simulations.
- Experience with software development in Python, C++, or other programming languages.
- Familiarity with GPU acceleration of numerical solvers, parallel sparse matrix operations, or time-domain simulations is a plus.
- Knowledge of modern GPU hardware and architectures is a plus.
- Experience with commercial software development and GUI development is a plus.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
