The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
* You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
* High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
* Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist

You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER) - Clermont Hospital
Job Summary:
The Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:
Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
Determining the priority of the patient's problems and needs
Implementing clinical nursing interventions
Having a highly diverse skillset
Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
Care for groups of patients in a fast-paced, high intensity setting as part of an interprofessional team focused on achieving the best individual patient and population outcomes
Evaluates, updates and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments
Provides care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short-stay to trauma
Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Education:
* Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing
Certifications:
* Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
* BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support and PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire)
Experience:
* One (1) year of professional experience practicing as a Registered Nurse (RN)
* Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experienced preferred, not required
Training:
* EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required)

The compensation range for this position is: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
This position is seasonal: April 17th - October 25th. Hours can range from 8 to 40 hours a week. The workweek is Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (changes based on event schedule)
Qualifications:
* Minimum 18 years of age;
* Common sense, good judgment and the ability to think logically;
* Reliability and punctuality. If you commit to a shift, be there and on time;
* Knowledge of the Weekday Safety Team Handbook;
* Ability to work as a team member;
* Reliable transportation to and from the track location.
Duties:
* Responds to on-track fires and extinguishes fire;
* Performs salvage operations such as throwing salvage covers, sweeping water and removing debris;
* Responds to and renders assistance in emergency cases;
* Cleans and inspects equipment and apparatus after returning from a fire;
* Inspects equipment and apparatus and notifies EMS & Facilities Manager of any defects;
* Makes minor repairs to equipment and apparatus, performs routine preventative maintenance tasks, and keeps records of such action;
* Keeps fire truck and equipment in a clean and orderly condition;
* Participates in training activities and instruction sessions;
* Acquires and retains a thorough knowledge of the race track, including station numbers, emergency district locations, buildings, water supply, unusual hazards and related items;
* Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with WGI's policies and procedures;
* Works in a safe manner and reports unsafe activity and conditions. Follows WGI safety policy and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in WGI's Safety Handbook.
Requirement:
* Valid driver's license required.
* Fire Fighter One required.
* Extrication certification is preferred but not required.
* Required to work some weekends

The AEMT is fully responsible for all actions as a certified AEMT and is accountable for the quality of emergency and non-emergency medical care delivered. In delivering pre-hospital emergency care, the AEMT performs all techniques of basic life support, provides specified field treatment for medical emergencies, and transports patients to the appropriate medical facility. This includes ambulance, wheelchair and medical van.
AEMTs' conducts patient assessments to assess the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed, or need for additional assistance, and provides basic life support to all patients, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
Qualified applicants must maintain up-to-date knowledge and clinical skills on treatment techniques, protocol changes, and application of new drugs, material, and equipment and are required to attend continuing education on a regular basis.

Must have valid Driver's License and the ability to drive a minimum of 4 hours per shift.
Effective computer skills required with the ability to complete quality chart notes at end of shift.
Must be available to work rotating shifts: nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
Preferred Experience:
Hands on experience as an AEMT
Knowledge of EMS Charts/Zoll Patient Care Reporting software; Internet software; experience using MS Excel and MS Word.
