The purpose of a paramedic position is to provide basic and advanced life support and emergency medical techniques to those in need of assistance. Participating in continuing education and training relative to medical and industry advancements in vital to succeeding in this role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Respond to BLS and ALS emergent and non-emergent transports and scene calls
Provide high quality, routine and emergent basic and advanced life support
Provide comprehensive assessments of ill and/or injured patients, invasive airway management, cardiac monitoring and administration of medications on scene and/or in route to hospital or receiving facility
Perform a complete assessment on every scene or transport patient, including but not limited to determining if the patient is appropriate to move, safest method of movement and the most appropriate destination for the patient
Professional liaison with members of other agencies and facilities, such as police, fire, hospitals, senior living facilities and other ambulance services to ensure the appropriate level of response and service is provided
Interact professionally with members of the public and/or family members present at the scene or in the general community.
Clean, decontaminate and check vehicles and equipment to maintain a state of operational readiness
Thoroughly document all patient history, condition, assessments and interventions preformed as well as the patient responses on the patient care record.
Responsible for other related duties deemed necessary to meet the needs of the Company

Job Description: Summary
Primary Job is to function as a Paramedic conducting patient care from an ambulance. Position is, time allowing, responsible for the daily supervision of the EMS field operations in the absence of senior management. Assures adequate zone coverage, compliance, and serves as AmeriPro EMS' liaison with outside responding agencies and personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Care
Supervises day-to-day field operation employees in the absence of senior management.
Ensures field employees have the required equipment to perform the essential functions of their assigned duties.
Serves as liaison for field staff to other departments (i.e., Training, CQI, Payroll, Human Resources, Billing, and Communication.)
Prepares appropriate reports in the absence of senior management involving mechanical breakdowns, accident investigation, exposures, daily shift activities, and other incidents that may occur.
Ensures assigned employees adhere to AmeriPro EMS' policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
Ensures that AmeriPro EMS' Patient Care Protocols are adhered to.
Assist the Supervisor and Manager in evaluating the performance of employees assigned to him/her, maintains attendance records and ensures employees maintain a high level of professionalism.
In conjunction with the Communications Supervisor, monitors the overall deployment and efficiency of the established system. Makes decisions concerning IFT, Mutual Aid, and Out of town trips in absence of Senior Management.
Shall manage the day to day short term scheduling needs.
Ensure that crews TEFs are turned into Operations Supervisor.
Will deliver RTF paperwork to employees on duty, forwarding back to administrative assistant.
Will ensure a daily duties (truck cleaning, station duties, check offs, etc…) are preformed
Will be the first contact OJIs, Complaints; Company related Accidents, etc… Will be responsible for starting initial investigations and forward to Operations Supervisor for completion.
Completes daily report at end of each shift, detailing activities of shift.
Serves as a leader and provides guidance and training for new employees and students.
Performs all of the above functions in accordance with established financial and operational plans and goals pertaining to cost effectiveness and efficient management.
Shall respond to the scene of calls with crews and shall assume command and coordinate ambulance transport in the event of a Mass Casualty Incident until relieved by a member of senior management.
Attend regular planning meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Demonstrates the ability to safely lift, transfer and maneuver patients in and out of ambulances, facilities, residences and other locations.

MAJOR PREFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain all medical response equipment, supplies, and medication at a high state of readiness at all times.
Respond safely and appropriately to emergency scenes when requested.
Initiate, complete, and re-assess scene size up for initial and on-going hazards.
Perform appripriate patient assessments as determined by the patient's chief complaint and type of emergency scene.
Appropriately interpret patient assessment findings to determine course of treatment / intervention.
Provide assessment-based treatment(s) / intervention(s) to improve patient condition(s) and to reduce mortality / morbidity.
Determine most appropriate transport destination and safely initiate patient transport.
Maintain continuity of appropriate treatment / intervention throughout duration of transport.
Provide pre-arrival patient status and patient care report via on-board radio to receiving hospital.
Provide a patient hand-off report to nursing staff / physician(s) accepting or assuming patient care, to include all known patient information, treatments / interventions provided during transport, patient's response to treatments / interventions during transport, and all / any known patient medical history.
Decontaminate all equipment and assigned vehicle components, re-stock all used medical supplies, and assure that the assigned reponse vehicle is restored to the highest state of readiness.
Complete a detailed, accurate, and full patient care report for each patient encounter prior to the end of your assigned duty period during which the patient encounter occured.
Regularly attend and actively participate in continuting / educational in-service training.
Regularly attend and actively participate in Quality Assurance Sessions as directed.
Maintain a professional demeanor and professional appearance during all assigned duty periods.
Actively participate in daily activites including the performance of station duties, terriroty familiarization, personnel training, and professional development.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Possess and demonstrate the ability to apply an In-depth knowledge of Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support emergency medical treatment in the performance of providing emergency response upon request. Possess the knowledge and demonstrate the ability to apply advanced airway management skills to appropriately manage the airway. Possess and demonstrate the ability to apply an in-depth knowledge of pharmacology relating to pre-hospital emergency medicine. WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
This position may require serious physical exertion and/or muscular strain and the expected, daily physical activity associated with this position includes frequently reaching, turning, twisting, pulling, pushing, stepping, squatting, kneeling and routine periods of standing for extended lengths of time. This position involves exposure to extreme heat and cold, rain, noise, strong odors, dust, pollen and possible toxic or caustic conditions on an extending and routine basis. Persons wishing to fill this position must be able tO work at a desk for prolonged periods, in a moving vehicle, and to stand for prolonged periods.
The person filling this position may regularly endure extended periods with little or no sleep. Direct Lifting and / or Use of Direct Force:

Job Summary:
Firefighter / EMT shall be under the immediate supervision of their company officer. Their foremost and primary responsibility is to respond as part of a company to fire and other emergency incidents to suppress fire, rescue victims, provide emergency medical care and perform other duties as required to mitigate the incident. Secondary to this is the preservation of evidence to determine the cause of fire, inspection surveys for pre planning and preventative / corrective maintenance of the station, apparatus and equipment. Assignments may be made through oral or written instructions, and work is under close supervision most of the time, but there are times when courses of action must be determined by the firefighter.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
- Respond with their units to all alarms and emergency calls and perform duties as required to save life and property.
- During duty cycles they shall keep the station house and premises neat, clean and in good order.
- Assist in keeping fire apparatus, equipment and tools in a clean and serviceable condition at all times.
- Assist the driver / operator in the initial daily inspection, vehicle check-off, washing and waxing of their respective apparatus and equipment. Also, cleaning and upkeep of equipment after returning from a call, drill or training activity.
- Participate in all training activities as required by their company officer.
- Keep self and personal equipment, uniforms, protective clothing, locker, etc. in a neat and clean condition.
- Be familiar with and obedient to department rules, regulations, and SOPs, as well as responsive to established chain of command.
- The EMT will perform all emergency procedures, as outlined in FAC 64J, and assist the paramedic in treatment and transport of the sick and injured.
- Maintain certification/s as required by FS 401 and FAC 64J.
- While on duty, you must have available for inspection the EMT state certification card and all other certifications required by FS 401 and FAC 64J.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or required.

Must be physically capable and medically approved to perform the necessary duties of firefighters in accordance with State laws.
Shall, as a member of a two-person crew, have the strength and range of motion to lift a 200-pound patient from the ground, a bed, or from a vehicle: either supported by immobilization equipment or unsupported.
Shall, as a member of a two-person crew, have the strength and range of motion to lift a 200-pound patient on an ambulance stretcher from the ground position to the load position, and into ambulance.
Shall have the physical ability and dexterity to perform the medical care skills included in the EMT curriculum and Department EMS SOP in such standard scenarios as a supine or prone patient on the ground, in a bed, or in a vehicle.
