Frequency Key: Occasionally = 1-33% of time Frequently = 34-66% of time Continuously = 67-100% of time Standing/Walking: Frequently to continuously, including on various surfaces (cement, gravel, stairs, etc.), indoors and outdoors, sometimes in adverse weather. Must be able to run when necessary. Sitting: Variable, dependent on situation and location. Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lifts 50 lbs; occasionally lifts/carries 100+ lbs (patients, equipment). Bending/Stooping: Frequently at 35-65° angles; may last 30+ minutes. Crouching/Kneeling: Frequently up to 15 times per call, potentially prolonged. Climbing: Occasionally required (stairs, vehicle entry/exit), often while carrying equipment or assisting patients. Reaching: Frequently to continuously-includes extending arms in awkward or confined spaces. Pushing/Pulling: Frequently-e.g., gurney operation, doors, CPR, or loading/unloading equipment. Handling/Grasping: Continuously-requires a wide range of arm, wrist, and finger motions (grips, lifts, manipulations). Hazards: Possible exposure to fumes, chemicals, bodily fluids, fire, extreme weather, violent patients, or bystanders. Strict adherence to safety and infection control policies is mandatory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Primary duty is administering basic life support treatments within the EMT scope. Safely operating and maintaining emergency vehicles in compliance with laws. Delivering competent patient care in various settings. Applying EMS procedures in practical situations. Interacting professionally with healthcare personnel. Documenting information accurately in our charting system. Assisting fellow EMS providers and providing comprehensive reports. Maintaining equipment, ensuring cleanliness, and restocking supplies. Adhering to company and local agency policies and protocols. Demonstrating a clean appearance and professional, ethical behavior. May be required to administer first aid to injured coworkers when necessary. Physical Demands: Must be physically capable of operating various vehicles and equipment essential to the job duties of an EMS provider. Requires frequent bending, sitting, kneeling, moving, and lifting patients and equipment weighing at least 125 pounds. Ability to push and pull objects exceeding 50 pounds. Must be able to drive/ ride in an ambulance for extended periods of time without issue. Physical agility is essential to lift and move patients safely. Physically strenuous and can be emotionally challenging. Qualifications: Current CPR Current position specific state certification or a NREMT specific certification with ability to obtain reciprocity is required prior to start date.
