    Holy Rosary has a busy 8 bed emergency department with a broad scope of services. We see approximately 5,000 patients, annually, and are a regional hub for critically ill or injured patients. HRH has walk-in care 7 days per week to increase access to care and appropriate use of ED services. The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.Posting Specifics Benefits Eligible: Yes Shift Details: Full time (36 budgeted hours). Three 12 hour shifts per week, shifts may vary. Unit/Location: Emergency department - Holy Rosary Healthcare Preferred Qualifications: ER nursing experience strongly preferred. Scope Evaluates health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data. Performs health teaching and health counseling. Provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation with, delegation to, supervision of, or teaching of others. Executes delegated medical functions. Refers to patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment. Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans. Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. Uses resources as needed. Required: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. Nurses with an ASN degree hired after July 1,2020 will be required to obtain their BSN within five (5) years of employment when hired into an Acute Care or Residential Living position. In the event the employee does not acquire their BSN by the above deadline, there will be a review process on the nurse's individual circumstances. The review process may provide an unlimited number of options, including an extension of the deadline period for up to 2 years, reassignment to a non-nursing position, or termination based upon management's discretion. Nurses who possess a minimum of ten (10) years of proven Registered Nurse experience in an acute care or long-term care setting or nurses who are hired before July 1,2020 will be exempt and will not be subject to any requirement to obtain a BSN as a condition of employment at Holy Rosary Healthcare. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval. ACLS within 6 months of hire and kept current after that. TNCC within 1 year of hire and kept current after that. PALS within 6 months of hire and kept current after that. ENPC within 1 year of hire and kept current after that. Preferred: Bachelor's degree of Nursing is preferred Certification as appropriate for the unit or service is preferred. Physical Requirements: Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
