Scheduling Requirements:
Per Diem- The employee must provide 10 shifts of availability and work 6 shifts over 3 months. Per Diem Employees must work 1 summer and 1 winter holiday along with 2 weekend shifts. All minimum shifts must be within the region applicant is hired within. Per Diems are tied only to their home region, and may choose to work dayshift, nightshift, and wherever they prefer- in terms of Station/Unit.
Per Diem Employees must maintain their minimum required shifts.
Part Time- The employee is assigned two regularly scheduled shifts per week, for a total of 4 shifts over 2 weeks, with at least 2 of the 4 shifts required to be a weekend, in the region they are hired into.
Part Time employees must work 24 hours per week.
Full Time- The employee is assigned 3 shifts a week, with weekend requirements, in the region they are hired into. This assignment consists of a Rotating Pitman schedule.
Full Time employees must work 36 hours per week.
Essential Functions:

Notifies Supervisor of any deficiencies regarding maintenance, equipment, or supplies

Required to complete department specific continuing programs in addition to those required by the State of New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services
Expected to complete all patient care documentation in accordance with the MH Documentation Procedure
Interacts professionally with partners, patients, management, colleagues from other EMS agencies, public safety personnel, and other healthcare providers and members of the public
Expected to perform routine duties intended to keep them safe and facilitate their ability to provide patient care
This includes but is not limited to: completing vehicle inspection forms and vehicle maintenance requests, submitting copies of required certifications prior to their due date, remaining compliant with hospital Employee Health requirements such as TB testing and N95 fit testing, and completing hospital-required processes such as annual employee self-evaluations and employee engagement surveys in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as required or requested by MH management, necessary to the function of the organization.

As well as 9-1-1 Emergency Transports, NBFARS crews rotate throughout their shift to also complete Non-Emergency Transports throughout the shift.

The Per-Diem EMT position is a at-will, hourly position, with no guaranteed minimum hours per week. This position's primary responsibility is that of an on-the-ambulance EMT. What You Will Be Doing:
The EMT will be working with another EMT or EMR on our BLS truck. You will be responsible for ensuring the client is safe, secure, comfortable and arrives at their destination per the guidelines with State and Federal statutes and regulations. You will be in constant contact with our dispatch team who will assign calls to you and your partner. If any issues arise, you must have clear communication with your supervisor(s), dispatch, partner and accurate charting.
Responsibilities:
Pre and post hospital basic and life support treatment.
Operates all vehicles safely and professionally in compliance with all laws and regulations.
Accurately documents all patient information, vitals, facility information, etc.
Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicles and troubleshooting all equipment and/or supplies to ensure there are enough necessary items available.
Ensures all certifications are kept up to date and renewed before the expiration date.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with your fellow EMTs and management to assure top tier patient care.
Be flexible as emergency services operate on a 24-hour clock - your work shift schedule may vary due to the nature of the business.
Remain up to date with current standards of care, including equipment functions and uses and all certifications, licenses and registrations as well as be familiar with company policies/standards, and as such, be familiar with and comply with rules at major receiving client/facility locations.
Conduct yourself in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner when dealing with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and the public and project a professional image and attitude
Recognize and treat any medical condition with appropriate techniques, equipment, and knowledge of all State and County protocols and perform basic life support procedures under Department of Health regulations.
Move patients in a safe manner, particularly when moving up and down stairs
Be familiar with safe lifting and moving techniques and be physically/mentally fit for performance of job duties.
Operate and drive the ambulance in accordance with safety policies and laws, showing due regard for all applicable State and Regional Regulations (DMV & DOH), and always drive in a safe and responsible manner
Be familiar with maps and capable of navigating in all response areas of the company.
Assume responsibility for cleanliness of vehicle on a daily basis; stock the rigs; perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection. Make sure that all utilized equipment is replaced at the end of shift, including the replacement of oxygen tanks. Inspect and report any vehicle damage or malfunction. Must refuel vehicle.
Gather patient billing information and appropriate billing signatures.
Prepare and submit a pre-hospital patient care report.
Respond promptly to assignments as required by the Dispatch Center and have a working knowledge of the company communication systems and communication policies and procedures.
The employee must be able to walk varying distances through facilities and outside in all types of weather while pushing/pulling the stretcher. The employee is also responsible for carrying equipment which weighs approximately 10 to 30 pounds.

Valid NJ Driver's License (for at least 2 years) and an acceptable driving record
