Job Description: Summary
Provides patient care in both the emergency and non-emergency environment. Ensures compliance with all State EMS rules and regulations. Checks and maintains all ambulance equipment and vehicle to insure it is clean and in proper working condition. Maintains all company required licenses and certifications for an EMT position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to all calls for service dispatched from the AmeriPro EMS communications center as directed.
Provide care and treatment to patients according to company policy and the company medical director protocols.
Ensures ambulance and all equipment is cleaned and checked daily. Any deficiencies should be reported immediately to the shift supervisor or Director of Operations.
Prepares and completes appropriate reports including Patient Care Reports (PCR), billing, exposure reports, incident reports, daily, weekly and monthly unit check offs.
Ensures unit and crewmembers adhere to AmeriPro EMS policies, procedures, guidelines, directives and standards. Reports any deficiencies to the shift supervisor or Director of Operations.
Ensures vehicle placed in-service comply with required laws, rules license, and regulations as outlined by the State of Florida and other authorized agencies.
Prompt and regular attendance at work and mandatory meetings.

How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Operates a variety of equipment in the performance of duties, such as fire rescue equipment, all fire department vehicles, radio communications equipment, fire extinguishers, various hoses and nozzles, various ladders, power tools, hand tools, and related equipment.
Performs pre-fire planning and evaluation; maintains familiarity with city maps and charts; cleans and maintains equipment before and after fires to ensure readiness.
Performs child safety seat inspections and installations.
Participates in public safety education activities; conducts blood pressure screenings.
Assists in fire prevention activities; provides lectures, programs, and classes to civic groups, schools, and businesses per fire prevention and fire safety; conducts fire safety inspections of businesses.
Performs routine maintenance work involved in the upkeep of fire department property, vehicles, and equipment, records and reports maintenance activities.
Attends training classes in firefighting and related subjects; maintains required training hours; maintains physical fitness.
Collects and records information for fire reports; prepares a variety of reports and logs; copies, maintains records, and transmits as appropriate; issues burn permits.
Operates a personal computer, audio/visual equipment, general office equipment or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, Internet, or other computer applications.
Creates/maintains positive public relations with the general public; provides information and education to the public regarding fire safety, fire prevention, and firefighting; conducts fire station tours and blood pressure checks for the public; installs smoke detectors; participates in parades and civic events.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; supplemented by vocational/technical training in firefighting, hazardous materials, and basic emergency medical care; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Licenses or Certifications:
Valid State of Georgia driver's license; valid Georgia Firefighter Basic and valid Georgia Hazardous Materials Technician certifications; valid Georgia EMT license.
Special Requirements:
Requires an acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check and an acceptable driving record. This position is deemed safety-sensitive and is subject to random alcohol and controlled substance testing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is heavy work which requires exerting up to 100 pounds of force or more. Work requires the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that generally involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials; may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials.
