Job Summary and Qualifications
The Interfacility Transport Paramedic will operate on the Interfacility Transport Team (IFT). The purpose of this position is to respond to emergency calls to provide efficient and advanced care to the critically ill and injured, and to transport the patient safely to a medical facility. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

in accordance with local, state or federal regulations, decontaminates the interior of the vehicle after transport of patient with contagious infection or hazardous materials exposure.
Additionally, the EMT-B:
determines that ambulance is in proper mechanical condition by checking items required by daily checkoffs. Maintains familiarity with specialized equipment used by the service

The purpose of this position is to safely operate an ambulance and its equipment, survey emergency scenes safely, coordinate with additional agencies for best possible treatment plan for the patient in medical/trauma situations. Safely work in inclement weather or on dangerous roadways. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
