Job Description Paramedics provide medical care to emergency and non-emergency patients and maintain positive working relationships with all customer groups and agencies. Accurate hearing ability and vision that can be corrected to 20/40 are required. Respirator use may occasionally be required. Paramedics receive a starting salary of $54,912 for a metro 12 hr shift + depending on experience. Full benefit package includes retirement plan with generous match. The Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) will work with a team of physicians, other nurses, patient care techs, and other professionals from various departments of the hospital such as Laboratory, Radiology, and Respiratory Therapy. CRHS ED is a certified Level III Trauma Center, AR SAVES spoke site and receiving site, and a designated Arkansas Stroke Ready Hospital (ArSRH). The ED RN is part of a team that provides care for traumatically injured patients, and critically ill patients suffering from life threatening conditions such as Heart Attack or Stroke. The ED RN works alongside the team with the common goal of providing compassionate, quality care to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics within a fast paced environment. The ED RN will assess and monitor a wide array of health conditions and injuries, administer medications, and perform procedures such as moderate sedation, intraosseous and intravascular therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Job Description The Emergency Medical Technician provides care to emergency and non-emergency patients and maintains positive working relationship with all customer groups and agencies. An EMT restores and promotes a patient's health by assisting Paramedics in providing life support and transport of sick and injured persons in and out of hospital settings as authorized by established medical protocol or a physician. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Provides Basic Life Support including medical evaluation, treatment and stabilization of the critically ill and injured; responds to emergency rescue situations involving potential loss of life or bodily injury; maintains control, manages and directs patient care at the scene of a pre-hospital emergency; provides training and instruction to lesser trained personnel; performs other duties as required. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: The work requires the incumbent to operate emergency medical vehicles, move medical equipment and extract injured persons from a wide variety of situations. Situation can involve vehicular, industrial and residential accidents, injuries or illness and occur anywhere in our coverage area. At times the work requires movement over various types of terrain, (hilly, steep, rocky, rough, and/or wet/slippery surfaces). The incumbent at all times must be able to carry or help carry someone from the site of the injury to the mode of transportation (vehicle/helicopter) and attend the injured party to the hospital. In order to perform a physical assessment of the injured party, the incumbent must see, hear, and communicate with the injured party. Incumbents will be issued and must wear Company issued uniforms while on duty; additionally, incumbents will be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of uniform s, as well as all issued equipment.
