Nature of Work
This is technical work in the field of emergency response in the application of emergency medical care; in the prevention, control, and suppression of fire (both structural and non-structural); and in response to natural and human-made disasters. Work is public safety oriented in the protection of life and property through the application of technical knowledge, skills, and abilities in the fields of fire science, hazardous materials management, building construction, and emergency medicine. Work is of a physical nature and involves an element of personal danger. Employees must be able to act without direct supervision and to exercise independent discretion in addressing emergency situations. Work assignments and instructions are received from a supervisor who reviews work methods and results through observation, reports and discussion. Performs emergency rescue operations in preserving life and property including, but not limited to, responding to 911 calls as part of team/unit; extricating persons from entrapments; stabilizing victims for transport; administering basic and advanced cardio life support (BCLS / ACLS); administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); assessing extent of illness/injury and determining appropriate medical protocol(s); notifying dispatch of patient condition); and managing time constraints and environmental conditions in expediting victim transports.
Performs various administrative tasks including, but not limited to, documenting calls, data entry of incident reports, documenting patient conditions, quality assurance, and participating in post-incident analysis.
Responds as part of a unit/team to emergency scenes, natural disasters or other critical incidents including, but not limited to, hazardous materials spills, hurricanes, automotive accidents, building collapses, weapons of mass destruction, civil disturbances, explosions, water incidents, and aircraft crashes.
Functions in a public relations capacity including, but not limited to, providing fire safety information to the community; conducting presentations on fire services and emergency rescue operations; participating in demonstrations (e.g., blood pressure monitoring); installing smoke detectors; conducting station tours; and educating persons in the areas of health and wellness.

Depending on functional area of assignment, additional licensure, certification, or training will apply to meet and maintain compliance with all Federal, State, Department and Insurance Service Office (ISO) training and licensure requirements Refer to Departmental Standards and Qualifications for functional area assignment requirements.
Compliance with minimum training and standards of an accredited certification institution for Physical Agility Testing (PAT), such as the Broward Fire Academy or an equivalent testing agency. Tasks include a criticality component in responding to fire, medical, emergency scenes or other critical incidents, whereby incumbents are required to maintain physical abilities consistent with current PAT standards in order to perform essential duties as outlined herein on an as needed basis. Emphasis does not consider percentage (%) of time allocated to performing essential functions. Rather incumbents maintain PAT physical standards in order to perform essential functions at any point during compensatory time regardless of allocated percentage (%) of time to any one duty.
The following physical requirements serve as guidelines for the standards that apply:
Tasks involve the intermittent performance of extremely physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, running, climbing, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of extremely heavy objects (150+ pounds), such as in the event of rescuing or transporting a victim/patient in the performance of rescue operations. Establish good rapport with study subjects during in-patient stays or outpatient visits
Clinical data collection such as: vital signs, ECG recording, subject height and weight, etc.
Laboratory specimen collection, processing and shipment (as needed)
Able to identify dysrhythmias during study participant Telemetry Monitoring
Dispense concomitant medications to study subjects during in-patient stays
Dispense meals to study subjects during in-house visits

Vighter is recruiting healthcare professionals (HCPs) to conduct basic screening assessments and provide healthcare services to individuals detained by Customs and Border Protection (CBP). HCPs work administratively under the Regional Program Manager and Regional Deputy Program Manager while performing healthcare services under the medical direction of the National Medical Director and Physician Supervisors who collaborate with CBP's Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO). Healthcare is delivered in accordance with approved medical protocols and in compliance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) directives.
Vighter's HCPs work alongside uniformed CBP Agents/Officers at numerous locations near the border in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, and Florida. The medical staff must be capable of providing health care services for persons of all ages, to include infants, children, adults, and pregnant females. Candidates must be comfortable working in a detention setting. Services may be provided in a field setting with minimal facilities, a soft-sided (tent-type) facility, or a secure detention facility, such as a US Border Patrol Station. This is an amazing opportunity to work with diverse populations alongside a supportive team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff.
Education, Licensure/Certification & Experience:
Must have a minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care as a licensed/certified Paramedic.
Successful completion of a US-based training program leading to licensure/certification as a Paramedic (EMT-P). The degree issuing institution and/or program must be accredited by an entity recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Must have a current, active, valid, unencumbered license/registration/certification to practice healthcare in the state in which the candidate will work. License/registration/certification must not have been withheld, suspended, revoked, denied, surrendered, or lapsed due to an investigation.
Must possess a current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from one of the following approved organizations: American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for health care providers, AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, American Red Cross CPB/BLS for the professional rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) CPR and AED for healthcare providers and professional responders.

Maintains privacy and confidentiality of all patient care.
Performs head to toe assessment, documenting findings, and completing any needed treatments within the scope of practice. Refers any urgent needs to a higher level of care if needed.

Coordinates referrals to offsite facilities, performs emergency care if needed.

Travel:
This is not a travel position so candidates can be expected to work at alternate worksites within 50 miles of their permanent residence.

The Job
* Establish good rapport with study subjects during in-patient stays or outpatient visits
* Clinical data collection such as: vital signs, ECG recording, subject height and weight, etc.
* Laboratory specimen collection, processing and shipment (as needed)
* Able to identify dysrhythmias during study participant Telemetry Monitoring
* Dispense concomitant medications to study subjects during in-patient stays
* Dispense meals to study subjects during in-house visits
* Complete Shift Report at the end of their shift and transfer responsibilities to the next licensed staff (i.e. RNs, LPNs, ARNPs, or another Paramedic)
* Address any conflict between subjects during overnight visits. Document the incident in the Shift Report. Alert Operations Manager and Coordinator as required
* In the event of a medical emergency, take appropriate measures to ensure safety of the subject. Inform Medical Director or Investigator as soon as possible
* Review and sign electrocardiograms and communicate immediately to Principal Investigator in case of major findings
* Record data collected into source documents and address data corrections/clarifications in a timely manner
* Available for on-call or onsite coverage including afternoons, nights, weekends as needed.
* Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Must be licensed medical personnel (i.e. EMT/Paramedic) and behave both, at minimum, certificationsed in Basic Life Support (BLS) and. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred
* Effective communication skills (written and verbal) and be computer literate with accurate typing skills
* A bilingual person in Spanish and English is preferred

What You'll Do
As a Pediatric Home Care Specialist (Certified/Licensed Paramedic) with Imagine Pediatrics, you will in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, facilitate in home delivery of episodic and longitudinal care. You leverage an integrated technology platform and are complimented by an entire interdisciplinary team including APPs, registered nurses, navigators, pharmacists, psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists. You will:
Travel to members' homes, or wherever in the community our members are, in response to requests for acute and episodic medical, behavioral, and social needs.
Work closely as a member of an integrated care team to provide high-quality, compassionate, and skilled care to our pediatric members and their families.
Assist, in collaboration with other members of the integrated care team, with urgent needs for our members. Provide therapeutic intervention under the direct guidance of a physician.
Assist in the engagement and onboarding of new members by helping conduct and facilitate clinical intake visits.
Engage with members recently discharged from inpatient admission or recently seen in the Emergency Department to prevent readmission and identify and solve root causes of readmission.
What You Bring & How You Qualify
