Responsibilities: * Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols. * Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care. * Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given. * Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed. * Drive the ambulance on 911 responses. * Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics. In this role, you will provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and immediate medical assistance to individuals experiencing mental health crises in various community settings. As an EMT Peer Support Specialist, you will collaborate closely with mental health professionals and emergency response teams to ensure comprehensive and effective crisis response and mobile outreach services. RESPONSIBILITIES: As an EMT Peer Support under the supervision of the Director of Crisis you will: Respond promptly and compassionately to mental health crisis and mobile crisis calls, providing on-site support and medical assistance as needed. Provide ongoing emotional support, actively listening to individuals' concerns and providing encouragement and validation. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including mental health clinicians, social workers, and emergency responders, to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive crisis response. Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and trainings to enhance crisis intervention skills, EMT skills, trauma-informed care, and peer support techniques. Maintain knowledge of current mental health crisis response protocols, EMT protocols, policies, and best practices.
