Salary: The Town of Essex, Vermont is seeking multiple Fire Fighter/EMTs to assist with the day-to-day operations of the departments available per-diem shifts, under the direction of the assigned officer of the day. The per-diem Firefighter/EMT will ensure the Town of Essex and the Fire Departments mission, values and goals are met, and policies are followed. The Paramedic is responsible for assessing patients' conditions, administering advanced life support, and transporting patients to medical facilities for further treatment. Duties will include obtaining and documenting a full set of vital signs, 1/1 observation of suicidal, restrained or confused patients, assisting with transportation needs, collecting urine and stool specimens, answering call lights, restocking and cleaning rooms, cleaning and changing linen on stretchers, assisting during a code 99, and cleaning/disinfecting of dirty instruments.
