**Overview and Responsibilities:**
Interested in joining the team? The CBS News Streaming Network is seeking a New York-based WGA LINE PRODUCER to join its 24-hour coverage team!
The ideal candidate is proactive, creative and editorially rigorous. They will demonstrate a firm command of journalistic standards, a keen attention to detail, and excellent news gathering and visual storytelling skills. They must also be calm and efficient during breaking news and, while based in New York, serve as a member of a global news organization.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
+ Work closely with the executive producer & supervising producer in a fast-paced, demanding environment, handling breaking news and news-of-day demands for a 24-hour digital news channel
+ Line produce editorial news content, shape show flow and stack elements in the rundown Work from the control room to guide shows in and out of breaks and to navigate both live and recorded content, including helping to determine when it will run in future hours Partner with assignment desk and booking team to request correspondents and live interview guests
+ Order informative graphics and use compelling video to create engaging news programs Distribute assignments and direct a team of writers, associate producers and digital associates to build original content as well as edit and repurpose content from broadcast and other content partners
+ Write teases, headlines, opening package and readers for live programming, including story slugs and lower-third banners
+ Generate story ideas for future coverage
+ Assign and record swap content for automated software wheel Monitor and take newsworthy live events to air in the control room
+ Communicate with anchors, correspondents and control room team ahead of and during live shows, exhibiting a calm and professional demeanor in high pressure situations
+ Serve as a mentor to junior writers
+ Coordinate with sales department to implement accurate ad loads in rundowns May also perform the responsibilities of content producers, producers, associate producers and digital associates, as needed
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ 5+ years of experience producing and writing copy for a national broadcast, cable or streaming network, or equivalent local TV news experience in a major market
+ Bachelors degree or equivalent education in journalism or related field
+ Command of AP style and broadcast writing with impeccable grammar and spelling Strong communication skills and ability to train and advise associate producers, production assistants and junior staff in writing and editing broadcast copy
+ Deep understanding for editorial production, including control room experience, with strong writing and copy editing skills
+ Detail oriented with ability to work in fast-paced environment, deal with intense deadlines and continually react to breaking news with factual programming and creative storytelling
+ Broad knowledge of top new pieces driving the news cycle, including political news, and a knack for identifying lesser-known angles that resonate with audiences
**Additional Qualifications:**
+ Ability to multi-task and balance multiple assignments for regular programming as well as rolling breaking news coverage
+ Exemplary news judgment & critical thinking skills
+ Fluency using ENPS is a must

Hiring Salary Range: $48.35 - 53.85.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. About the role
The Guardian seeks an experienced, creative and energetic video producer with a proven track record and a passion for news to help build the Guardian's US breaking news and short-form video strategy.
We're seeking a collaborative leader who can build relationships and work closely with global video teams in the UK and Australia, as well as with desks across the US newsroom. They will work closely with the US and global news editors to produce video journalism that serves the Guardian's global audience. Key relationships will include the US digital editors, US news desk editors and the UK video team.
The ideal candidate knows how to move quickly and decisively when news breaks. This producer will help shape the Guardian's US breaking news video strategy by finding new ways to elevate our reporting with compelling videos and integrating live feeds into our news products. Whether it's producing newsy clips for the homepage, making compelling short-form explainers or hosted videos with reporters, they will be an integral part of our daily news operation.
The role requires excellent news judgement and the confidence and experience to make informed calls on verification, copyright and distressing video. We want someone who cares deeply about the reader experience and will use audience analytics to thoughtfully grow our reach, while building engagement. The videos may live both on and off-site, so a keen knowledge of how audiences engage with video, both horizontally and vertically, is key. Key responsibilities

About the Role

About you
We're looking for an innovative producer with a passion for visual storytelling and the editorial experience to identify the most compelling and significant moments in an interview to feature across social media platforms and video channels. The ideal candidate will also bring new ideas about additional shortform content we can create to draw in viewers and listeners. This show will primarily be an interview format filmed in our New York studio with the wide ranging, global perspective that The Guardian offers. Figuring out how to convey the voice of the show visually - urgent and newsy sometimes, playful and light at others - will be an essential task of this position.

Collaborate with producers to write engaging copy that appears on social media and video platforms
Work closely with senior and executive producers to guarantee the highest levels of creativity, editorial and legal standards
