John W. Kemper is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Commerce Bancshares, Inc. In this role, he directs the Bank's strategy and line operations, working closely with market and business line leadership. In addition, Mr. Kemper has overall responsibility for bank credit and non-credit risk, legal, compliance and human resources. Kemper holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from Stanford University, a Master of Science in economic history from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
