Job Description
ASC Group, Inc., is a cultural and natural resources consulting firm headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. We have immediate openings for Archaeology Field Technicians for projects located in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky, which are ongoing and starting soon. These include a Phase III investigation of a major Fort Ancient village site and Phase I, II investigations of Woodland period sites in the Scioto Valley. Field technicians will be working under the supervision of a Field Supervisor and/or Principal Investigator. The ongoing and future projects should see work through the late summer.
The work will involve archaeological excavation (i.e., test units), feature documentation, mapping and profiling, shovel testing, surface survey, and screening for artifacts. Phase III investigations are primarily in heated tents.
Minimum requirements include an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field; field school or archaeological field experience (previous work in Cultural Resource Management preferred); good organizational skills; and ability to maintain neat and accurate field notes. Pay starts at $20/hr and is based on experience. Per-diem ($41/day) and lodging is provided for all project work requiring overnight stays away from your home office, and paid sick time accrual is offered.
You must provide personal PPE like gloves and boots. Other required PPE will be provided.

Natural Resource Specialist III, Wildlife Biologist

The Conservation Management Institute (CMI) at Virginia Tech is seeking a field biologist to assist with research projects across various taxa and locations, with a focus on freshwater aquatic fauna. This person will be responsible for working collaboratively with project managers to design and execute various fieldwork and research tasks including aquatic fauna surveys and instream habitat assessments, statistical analysis of biological data, writing technical reports, and developing and managing large-scale databases across multi-taxa and sampling-collection specific datasets. THE ROLE

THE ROLE
Legends/ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Parking Supervisor at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The Parking Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision of the parking staff and operations during scheduled shifts. Assists the Parking Coordinator with reviewing shift paperwork, auditing, compilation of operating management reports, reviews parking system activity reports, attending meetings, assisting in new hire interviewing and witnessing/assisting the administration of company progressive discipline policy.
Maintains department standards regarding customer service, uniform appearance, attendance, revenue controls and accounting.

* Projects involve a considerable amount of overnight travel, projects may be all over the country. The field-testing portion of each project typically lasts from 1 to 5 days and the test teams are generally home on the weekends, but some projects may require working or traveling on a weekend. The number of people needed in the field and the number of days in the field, varies with each project and changes from week to week. Expect 75% of the weeks to involve field work.
* When not in the field, duties may include equipment calibrations and repairs, prep and packing for future projects.
* During testing, the Environmental Technician will be at the location recording data, operating equipment, or working in the trailer recovering samples, performing analysis, etc.
* The Environmental Technician will become proficient in the various EPA sampling methods and develop knowledge about many types of industrial processes.
Qualifications
Requirements:
* Must be able to comfortably lift and carry 50 pounds. The testing projects can involve moving equipment to, and working at, elevated test locations, such as an exhaust stack platform or a rooftop. Access to the test location may be by elevator, stairs, or a ladder.
* Must be able to work comfortably throughout all the seasons as much of the work is outdoors.
* Completion of assigned responsibilities in a team setting with strong written and oral communication skills, and moderate computer skills.
* Successful completion of a background check and drug test (including marijuana) prior to employment or within five working days from date of hire. Once hired, participation in the TRC random drug testing program.
* Possession of a valid driver's license and successful completion of a pre-employment motor vehicle records check to confirm a good driving record. Once hired, maintaining valid DOT driver status (not Commercial Driver's License) is required.
