The Operations Manager provides leadership to leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.
***High-level responsibilities*** This is a fast-paced environment, looking for a strong and professional senior level Manager. Must have current/recent senior level managing over leaders. Previous Transportation Supervisor/Leadership experience managing a mid-size to large-size team. Previous proven experience training and developing associates. Previous metrics experience, strong DOT regulations knowledge and experience. Overseeing a team of cdl class A drivers and equipment. Preferred experience with driver tracking, HOS, route, and ensure on-time deliveries. Also need data auditing, field observation, positive coaching techniques, strong communication and engagement skills. Must be a self-starter, organized, detailed orientated, good interpersonal skills, professional, and approachable. Team player, with a strong sense of urgency/responsiveness/attention to detail is needed in the ideal fit. **Position Summary:**

**Major Responsibilities:**
**People**
- Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained and competent and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives
- Establish and sustain that we recruit, hire, train, develop and retain quality associates.
- Establish and sustain effective, two-way communication that informs and motivates as well as recognizes excellence among team members
- Establish and sustain strong and effective relationships with associates, the customer, and supporting departments
**Operations**
- Meet or exceed all customer key performance metrics and objectives
- Interact daily with local customer to ensure existing and emerging customer needs are understood
- Lead team to identify operational improvements in areas such as route optimization, carrier selection, backhauls, and trailer loading
- Collaborate with other Penske sites to share best practices, leverage resources/assets, etc.
**Finance**
- Develop and execute annual financial and operating plan
- Lead the operation with integrity to meet or exceed the Business Plan targets
- Identify issues with the operating metrics and P&L and make required adjustments in a timely manner
- Ensure customer billings and associate payroll are prepared timely and accurately, the payables and intercompany charges are valid and correct, and all other activities are accurately reflected in the P&L.
**Safety**
- Lead a culture of safety through personal example
- Develop, execute, and assess continuous improvement plan to reduce accident and injury frequency
- Ensure each associate understands their individual role and responsibilities, as well as the group's role and responsibilities required to achieve and maintain a safe work place

- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies, company policies and procedures

**Growth/Customer Experience**
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and challenge the status quo

**Fleet/Assets**
- Lead effort to improve fleet/equipment utilization, maintenance availability and fuel efficiency
- Contribute to equipment specification at time of start-up and renewal
- Build a strong working relationship with local PTL district and other equipment vendors
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
**Qualifications:**
- 4 - 6 years related functional experience.
- 3+ years managerial or supervisory experience with DOT regulated positions required
- High School degree or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint required
- Must have ability to connect and build rapport and relationships with associates and external customers at all levels
- Must have ability to work efficiently with time management and organizational skills with follow-up and follow through
- Ability to manage through a problem and think and make decisions independently
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute annual financial operating plan

Role and Team
As a Security Guard, you will be an integral part of the Security Team executing processes at our facility to ensure our associates, customers, and assets are protected. Verify only authorized individuals enter the property. Provide facility directions to customers, vendors and transporters.
Check gate passes to ensure vehicles are authorized to exit property.
Check departing vehicles to guard against theft of company property.
Greet customers at the gate and provide prompt and courteous service. Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
When difficult situations arise, de-escalate situations to ensure we win with partners and collaborate on the forefront.
Using a handheld device, input vehicle information including the VIN number, miles, owner identification, vehicle options, repair orders and any other pertinent information.
Verify the VIN number being entered matches the VIN number on the shipper's Bill of Lading.
Watch and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and doors left unsecured.
Account for and identify all keys, codes or other safety and security information
Maintain a current list of emergency and management telephone numbers
Maintain good operating condition of all equipment and facilities, including handheld devices and printers. Notify management of all breakdowns and maintenance needs.

What you will do:
• Perform multi-stop deliveries of fresh meat and seafood to various customers
• Unload the truck using manual pallet jacks and hand trucks
Schedule:
• Tuesday to Saturday with a 5 am start time

Qualifications:• Valid Class B CDL Airbrake endorsement required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required• 1 year of documented relevant commercial vehicle driving experience in the last 5 years required• 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents• Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job• In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency• Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.• This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.

We offer a competitive starting hourly rate of $19/hr with significant growth opportunities based on performance. You can boost your earnings within a short timeframe:
* Pay Range: $19-$20 hourly
* Starting Pay: $19/hr
* At 3 Months: $19.25/hr
* At 6 Months: $19.50/hr
* At 9 Months: $19.75/hr
* At 12 Months: $20/hr
In your first year, you can progress from $19hr to $20hr through our performance-based Careers Not Jobs program, which provides four merit opportunities annually. As part of this program, eligible team members can enjoy an additional $0.25 increase in their pay every 90 days.
We're looking for enthusiastic, energetic, and self-motivated team players to:
* Ensure each vehicle is inspected for mechanical, drivability or cosmetic concerns
* Wash and vacuum all inventory on a regular basis
* Complete multi-point inspection on arriving inventory to include fuel level, safety features, drivability test and proper display of all company and state disclosures
* Maintain positive relationships with coworkers and external vendors
* Interact and communicate with team members and management across all lines of the business.
* Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
General qualifications and requirements
* High School Diploma or equivalent is desirable
* Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license
* Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record for the past 3 years
* Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
* Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
* Requires standing for an extended period of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
* Requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
* Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
* Requires frequent driving and some typing.
* Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
