Position Summary
Under limited/minimal supervision, the Manufacturing Engineer II is an experienced role that is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment typically in a single manufacturing facility. Supports the manufacture and assembly of new and existing Parker products.
Identifies improved manufacturing techniques for testing new systems and methods for efficiency, and planning assembly layouts to optimize production, quality, cost, and safety. May be responsible for developing and deploying capital projects.
Scope/ Supervision and Interaction
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct or indirect reports.
Essential Functions
* Manufacturing Process Flow - Plans and designs basic manufacturing processes to improve the manufacture and assembly of new and existing products. Determines equipment and tooling needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product and quality specifications.
* Process Improvement - Develops and implements process improvement projects that focus on manufacturing efficiency, material yield, safety, and cost. May lead small teams in developing and implementing process improvement efforts.
* Engineering Design Support - Provides guidance to engineering leadership regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
* Regulatory Compliance - Ensures more complex processes and procedures comply with regulations. Applies frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
* Remediation - Investigates and suggests corrective action to ensure product quality, and to resolve quality issues.
* Performs additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in related Engineering field with 2-5 years of experience
* Proficient/Working knowledge and ability to apply concepts of engineering for one solution line
* Ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving of moderate to difficult scope and complexity
* Effectively apply continuous improvement methods to quality and manufacturing functions (e.g. pull systems, process mapping, JIT)
* Proficient/Working knowledge of data structures and database programming
* Ability to work effectively with CAD/CAM systems or other computer aided manufacturing systems, in addition to standard business application software and/ or specialized data analysis tools
* Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
* Ability to read and understand moderate to complex engineering drawings and specifications
* Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
* Ability to research and analyze data effectively and draw valid conclusions
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
* Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers

The ApplicationEngineer will provide technical and commercial sales support. This person is responsible for rapid delivery of quotations; submittal data and other information needed by Crane Regional Sales Managers and Channel Partners to help drive sales growth. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Collaborate with ApplicationEngineers, Field Engineers, and Operations to make sure components, drawings, and parts are picked and delivered on time for large capital equipment purchases.
* Collaborate with customers and internal teams on project applicationengineering and project management including quoting, configuring customer systems, and managing project timelines and communication.
* Able to read and work with AutoCAD and or SolidWorks
* Drive all system projects to standard system offerings during the quote phase of the opportunity
* Creating/maintain standard work around engineered system processes across functional teams
* Create and maintain metrics within the Applicationengineering team to ensure all processes are followed
* Work with the commercial team to prioritize all Powder system orders as a single point of contact
* Reviews all drawings and work instruction completion for all custom-engineered solutions prior to submission to planning and purchasing
* Ensure all quote logs and ECOs are completed on time
* Manages all quote log expedites to ensure priorities are managed and communicated to planning and purchasing
* Technical assistance to vendors and customers during installation and start up.
* Work with the quality team to generate corrective actions.
* Work with the logistics coordinator and supervisors to assist with systems shipments.
* Be the eyes and ears for applicationengineering in the Clinton, SC plant.
* Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Office environment. Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to multitask and work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic environment. Additional qualifications are as follows:
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineered discipline, or an associate degree with 5 years of related industry or equipment experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:

In this development program, you will:
* Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's)
