Master Production Scheduler Position Summary The Master Production Scheduler will maintain effective control of the backlog from order entry through shipment. The Master Production Scheduler ensures each order is planned and acted upon in a timely manner while providing as much visibility as required for a smooth flow of material. This will include identifying and reconciling problems or potential problems through interface with various departments. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Liaison with Contracts on loading and lead-time of all new Sales Orders o Monitor the sales backlog for his/her planner code o Ensure Delivery notes are raised in a timely manner with contracts to ensure * Time is allowed to Kit/Inspection and shipping within expected TAT. o Ensures timely delivery of all parts via Receiving and shipping departments o Prioritize material handling from receipt to shipment based on schedule requirements and department workload. * Coordinates the purchase and planning of materials required to meet the Production schedule. o Expedites and schedules orders to meet company and financial requirements. o Process changes, reschedules and outside processing that are required to accomplish the production schedule goals. o Places purchase orders. * Possesses knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing processes. o Determines time requirements for specific jobs and translates the production plan into a specific time schedule. o Review MRP order action messages, maintain schedule and visibility, and identify and resolve issues until shipment. o Generate work orders and issue purchase orders based on MRP messages. Has the decision-making authority on behalf of Mechanical Engineering for system and component design and the responsibilities for guiding and directing applicable IPT technical decisions and accomplishment of objectives. + Work with one or more IPT to design, analyze, and implement product designs and design improvements in all phases of a product design lifecycle + Lead and participate in efforts to solve problems with product design, inspection, manufacturing, and test encountered by vendors, company operations personnel, and customers. + Plan, organize, control, and lead multiple simultaneous projects. Establish and oversee accomplishment of multiple project objectives. Creates, updates, and interprets project schedules and communicates changes and status to Engineering Leadership and IPT(s). Support targets and milestones for project budgets and schedules. + Participate in resolving program change of scope issues with Project Engineering and Program Management. + Serve as primary technical contact for multiple cross-functional teams and liaison between Engineering and internal and external customers. Interacts directly with internal and external customers through formal technical presentations and informal discussions. + Create, develop, and guide the creation of design standards, technical documents, including Engineering drawings (following ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.34 standards), test procedures, test reports, and design review material. Present product design and substantiating data and analysis, design findings and recommendations to customers and management. + Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to co-workers. Provide direction to other engineers on project teams. + Ensure standardization of design of products and adherence to engineering processes across multiple projects. Supports continuous improvement by offering input to standard processes and procedures. + Proactively collaborate with peers and managers to determine key goals, objectives, and corresponding metrics. Review and amend these actions as appropriate. Focus on the timely achievement of these goals and objectives. + Interpret engineering documents. Coordinate creation and update of engineering documents + Participate and lead studies and improvement for cost reduction and first-time yield. + Lead and participate in cross-functional Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations. Provide engineering input and technical expertise and sound engineering judgment for failure investigation and for customer-returned hardware. **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution required. + Minimum five (5) years of Project Engineering including design experience utilizing 3D CAD software in the aerospace/hydraulic/vehicle industry OR a Master's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of two (2) years in Project Engineering experience in the aerospace/hydraulic/vehicle industry + Minimum two (2) years' experience designing hydraulic or pneumatic flow control, or actuation products + Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future. + This position requires access to export-controlled information.
