Position Summary/Essential Functions: The Sourcing Specialist position supports strategic sourcing projects by deploying best practices, procurement tools and negotiation skills. It also supports proposal activities with supplier bids, reviews historic pricing to evaluate quotes, performs cost and price analyses, conducts fact finding and serves as a negotiator. The Sourcing Specialist makes recommendation to strategic sourcing manager when seeking long-term agreements pre customer order award and/or at time of project release in compliance with FAR regulations. This role will support Engineering sourcing activities of new product and/or sources. The Sourcing Specialist works collaboratively and proactively to identify process, sourcing and contract improvement opportunities and negotiates/executes long term agreements based on provided customer forecasts. * Solicits and evaluates proposals/quotations, provides cost analysis, price justification, and risk assessments of suppliers at time of proposal. * Competes bid proposals and executes long term agreements for premier programs and/or customer with approval from the Sourcing & Commodity Manager. * Works closely with the pricing team to submit proposal quotes in a timely matter to the customer. * Provides target pricing for the tactical procurement team post contract award. * Assembles pre-awards documentation for anticipated contracts and purchases. * Communicates any quote exception or any significant changes to the supplier's status as to financial stability, delivery/quality performance and pricing of parts. * Assists Engineering in sourcing of parts and selecting suppliers to participate in development activities based on quality, lead time, cost effectiveness and producibility. * Negotiates long-term contract agreements with key suppliers to obtain effective prices, terms, products, and services to support PPI, inventory reduction and WADPO. * Performs other duties as may be assigned by the sourcing manager. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance or relevant discipline. * Minimum of 3 to 5 years' of applicable experience in bid evaluations and negotiating long-term agreements. * The Purchasing department is a fast-paced environment and requires a high level of organizational skills, efficient use of time, the ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple projects and continually meet deadlines. * Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, management, customers and other stakeholders in the organization. * Experience with FAR requirements preferred. * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. * Possess strong negotiation skills and experience in executing long-term agreements in support of supplier stock and reduced PPI. * Experienced in sourcing products on the internet by using COTS part numbers, material specifications and/or descriptions provided by Engineering or Program manager. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, preferred. * As a member of the organization, the employee is expected to work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; addressing problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; addressing others by name, title or other respectful identifier and; respecting the diversity of our work force in actions words and deeds. Position Summary Accurately and efficiently assembles/tests a variety of moderately complex products to achieve customer quality and on‐time delivery schedules. May perform lockwiring, first stage subassembly, and final detailing functions. Works on products that contain mechanical components, single hydraulic systems, and multiple part numbers. Actively contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs. Receives general supervisory guidance. Responsibilities Essential Functions 1. Sets up and runs multiple production machines. Performs machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming parts. Performs machine operations where the materials, tooling, and sequence of operations have been pre‐planned and established. Makes necessary machine adjustments and reports improper machine functioning or cutting action for correction. 2. Aligns and fastens work using standard fixtures and established methods. 3. Installs and adjusts cutting tools consistent with type and size of material being machined. 4. Follows established manufacturing methods using standard production machines, materials, and tooling. 5. Adjusts feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts, per documentation. 6. Operates hand and power tools to deburr precision and complex machine parts in accordance with semicomplicated engineering blueprints and route sheets to close tolerances. 7. Inspects parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as gages, calipers, micrometers and comparators. Uses various types of magnification equipment (including a microscope) to detect and avoid damage to surfaces and critical areas. Visually inspects parts for burrs or damaged machined surfaces. 8. Routinely maintains equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability specific to division requirements. 9. Accurately and regularly performs statistical process control (SPC) specific to division requirements. 10. Actively implements lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement. Effectively applies lean concepts and tools in work area. 11. Observes all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintains a clean and orderly work area. 12. Performs other related responsibilities, as requested. Qualifications Must have experience with Centerless Grinding 1. Three years related machining experience. Able to work with limited guidance in a team environment. 2. Able to make machine set ups. 3. Reads and follows blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions. 4. Has working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, may include trigonometry. 5. Able to effectively apply lean initiatives. 6. Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment. 7. Interprets reports and uses job specific software applications. Able to use employee self‐service systems to access on‐line information and use specialized automated systems (i.e., PMR, TORS, e‐mail). 8. Effectively demonstrates team member competencies and participates in goal setting, performance feedback, and self‐development activities.
