Parker Lord has an immediate opening for a Quality Inspector. Quality Inspector will use designated inspection equipment to inspect, in its entirety, raw material, components, and assemblies to determine conformance to requirements. Will also perform any inspection as assigned to determine conformance to specifications and drawings. This position falls within the scope of the FAA Drug and Alcohol program. Potential and transferred employees must pass a FAA Drug Screen and submit to random testing as required. In addition, the successful candidate must be willing to train on first shift and then transfer to ANY shift. Responsibilities Inspection of product through setup and operation of a variety of mechanical, electronic, or computer-based measuring instruments. Work from complex drawings with close tolerances. Determine conformance to requirements based on defined inspection methods and procedures, drawings, specifications and other acceptance criteria as applicable. Communicate clearly and professionally utilizing written and verbal methods with technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Accurately initiate, complete, and maintain all related inspection records and documentation. Review material and process test reports and certifications to specification and drawing requirements determining acceptance. Verify that suppliers have satisfied required quality provisions. Learn new skills and methods that improve quality, efficiency or cost in the department. Train other employees. Demonstrate a responsibility to meet designated safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly. Perform minor rework as required. Adhere to all Parker Lord policies and procedures. Perform similar and related duties. Qualifications Use all available devices, precision measuring instruments or testers as required. Perform layout both prior to and after machining. Apply knowledge of mathematics, shop formulas & trigonometry. Understand machining, fabricating, welding or other operations and their effects on subsequent operations. Thorough knowledge of and ability to use geometric tolerancing and dimensioning. Demonstrate written, verbal, or practical qualification requirements. Thorough knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, and IATF16949 is required. Certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Quality Manager (CQM) is desired. Demonstrated experience leading the use of quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis). Administrative Responsibilities: Serve as the primary switchboard operator. Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail. Prepare and send certified mail; manage birthday cards and flower orders. Order and maintain office supplies. Support the records retention program. Enter data into Velocity. Order and distribute anniversary gifts to employees. Assist with employee engagement activities. Assist with physical inventory audits. Perform other general administrative duties as needed to support the facility. For This Role, You Will Need: Associate degree or a minimum of three (3) years of equivalent experience in Accounts Payable and Purchasing. Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and equipped with excellent communication skills. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with limited supervision. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Knowledge of Pennsylvania Sales Tax requirements. Knowledge of 1099 and W-9 processing. Understanding of physical and physical inventory processes.
