Position Summary
The Service ApplicationEngineer works closely with Customers, Sales, Spare Parts, Field Service and Engineers to quote service and parts for existing and new customers. This will be done through both individual analysis as well as interactions with other engineering disciplines.
The Service ApplicationsEngineer is responsible for providing the Engineering Services Manager with the ongoing status of opportunities. The person in this position must facilitate the team concept and have the capability to develop and encourage co-workers' skills and abilities.
The Service ApplicationsEngineer will assist the Service Department in the successful execution of active opportunities: set up projects in the accounting system; review and release needed materials; monitor incoming parts and work with Purchasing to expedite as needed; provide timely and responsive support to field personnel; assist with closing projects and requesting invoices from Accounting, etc.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Evaluate technical content of complex potential projects and work with the Sales and Engineering personnel to define system requirements and develop a solution that satisfies such requirements through cost analysis and proposal generation
Facilitate execution, timelines and budgets for active opportunities
Set up projects in accounting system, review and release needed materials, request invoices from Accounting
Monitor incoming parts and work with Purchasing to expedite as needed
Identify and assist in improvements to both quoting processes and product standards / marketing
Assist with closing projects; respond to and support field personnel
Demonstrate excellent communications skills, both written and verbal; demonstrate leadership ability and relate well to others
Other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned by the Field Service Manager
Qualifications
5 years experience in quoting or experience in automation and/or service industry
Intimate technical knowledge with automation systems
Understanding of technical requirements for various arc welding processes
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
Experience with CAD and Microsoft products including: Solidworks, Robot Studio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
Excellent communication and organizational skills required

Summary of Role:
The GlobalFoundries FieldApplication Eng (FAE) engages with GF customers early to assess customer technical needs and identify the best GF technical solution to satisfy those needs driving the opportunity to DWIN and on towards tapeout. The FAE should understand and surmount any barriers of adoption the client may have for using GF technologies for their product development. Required Qualifications:
Education - Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (e.g. applied physics, etc).
Experience - Minimum 15 yrs in semiconductor design, tapeout and process.
Skills - Working knowledge of IC chip design flows and tools from architectural definition through performance characterization. Technical Program Management, active thinking, positive attitude, problem solving, strong responsibility and ownership, teamwork and personal communication skills are critical.
Travel - Up to 20%, primarily domestic with some international travel.
Fluency in English Language - written & verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education - Master's or PhD in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Experience - 5 yrs in semiconductor product design at the chip or module level.
Skills - Direct experience in IC chip design flows and EDA tools from architectural definition through performance characterization. • BS in engineering/sciences minimum, MS or higher preferred
• Minimum of 7 years in the communications industry with working experience in technical positions
• Customer-facing experience a plus
• Problem solving skills related to electronic/electrical, mechanical, and/or photonics

As a SoC ApplicationsEngineer, you will provide technical sales support for the Wavious' platform to prospects and customers. This position will be responsible addressing all technical issues in the pre- and post-sales cycle. Understanding business requirements, developing a solution, and effectively demonstrate Wavious' capabilities that address customer requirements.
This role requires broad knowledge of several areas, including systems engineering of high performance SoCs; interface definitions, software stacks, communication protocols, and packaging technologies.
Be the front line to answer all customer questions and consulting with the engineering team when necessary. The position requires solid experience and persuasive communication. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced start-up-like environment. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, detailed-oriented, and a quick learner.
Responsibilities include:
Provide pre- and post-sales support.
Timely and accurately answer customer questions and support their designs.
Assist customers in defining, integrating and testing Chiplet systems.
Generate application notes and technical documents, maintain version control and continuous updates.
Support reference design documents.
Work with cross-functional engineering teams on HW/FPGA/SWASIC enabling technologies.
Closely interact with R&D team to define future platforms and new chiplets.
Travel domestic and international (when travel restrictions are lifted)
Minimum Requirements:
BSEE/MSEE with significant relevant experience
5+ years of experience, including 3+ years of customer interfacing.
Deep knowledge of SoC HW/SW architecture
Excellent communication skills
Must have hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification.
Must have led creation and influenced system specification and requirements documents.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing and debugging embedded systems.
